We have tickets for the Commonwealth Games this year and want to combine it with our 10 night holiday. Can anyone recommend a good campsite not too far from Glasgow but near other attractions?

There's a thread elsewhere with dozens of replies to just this query, a while ago. In short, many sites are booked up already, but I think C&CC is running a THS (temp holiday site) which won't have EHUs.
Don't know what you mean by 'too far', but in addition to Lomond Woods (I'd recommend it) there's a few other sites on Loch Lomondside - less than an hour's drive from Glasgow. So in addition to the games, you can enjoy spectacular scenery.
However, for a really convenient site, check out Strathclyde Country Park. it's situated just off the M74 at Hamilton (presumably you'll be coming that way) and only 30 mins from city centre.
We have booked in at the C&CC Cashel Camping in the Forest site at Rowarden on Loch Lomond for 7 nights. Pitches can be booked online but you have to ring to get age concession prices.

Check the thread that's linked above, which had dozens of posts - I'm sure someone said Strathclyde was already booked up some time ago. Good to hear Cashel still has room, just drive carefully at the end of your long journey up from Devon as the road north of Balmaha is steep and bendy where it hugs the shoreline. I wouldn't take a vehicle into Glasgow though, so I think Balloch would be the nearest town for getting the train or a bus.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
