I need a campsite for our caravan within a few miles of Slaidburn, Lancashire. Searching UKCampsites search machine doesn't recognise Slaidburn at all.

Anyone got any experience of this area and can recommend a site please? Only want a three night stay, in Novermber.

Cheers,   Rambleruk

Well, I was going to suggest Crashaw Farm at Newton in Bowland, having found out that Slaidburn is near Clitheroe, but on reading the reviews, perhaps not! Have a look and decide for yourself.

These two in Clitheroe are fairly near, Slaidburn is about 8/10 mileas away.

I've never actually stayed at either, but work in Clitheroe so have been past them. The Three Rivers seems to get mixed reviews but I've always liked the look of Clitheroe Caravan and Camping site.

I don't think these sites are open in November?

I live close to both sites and would certainly pick the Caravan and camping site at Edisford Clitheroe as being the best. Although I am not sure if either of them is open in November.

Ah sorry didn't see the November bit, you might struggle in this area for a site open after 31st October to be honest.

Barnoldswick is about 10/15mins drive from Clitheroe and Lower Greenhill Campsite is a 12 month site http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=4082

Thanks for all your suggestions.  Couldn't find Crashaw Farm on the search facility but it sounds "iffy" from what you say.  A friend has found a website http://www.acrehill.com which is a CL (CC) and looks worth visiting. And it's open all year. I'll submit a review if I get there as planned.

Thanks again.
