Would not recommend swallow falls, you get packed in and the ground is very stony. Very handy for the pub though. Carry on up the A5 and you will come to a couple of much nicer sites with great views but take your own beer.
Betsw-y-coed is a beautiful place to visit but swallow falls campsite well they pack em in like sardines. I would recommend staying somewhere near though, a most beautiful area of wales.
GOOD LUCK!

several years ago we used to stay at a site in Betwy-s-coed - Riverside, we enjoyed it but I notice that the management have restricted reviews on here ??

But it´s all right now, I learned my lesson well.

Was looking for a site as close to pen-y-pass as possible, to make an ascent up Snowdon, looks like Swallow Falls is now out the equation, I know of Riverside, never stayed, but went for a nose and for some reason, don't know why, didn't like the look of it.
Any other suggestions, please.
Thanks.

Depending on time of year the Snowdon Sherpa bus does a circuit around all the Snowdon villages so you could still do the walk from Pen y Pass as that is one of the stops. There are sites located on the sides of the Llanberis Pass and in Nant Peris but these are mostly basic and used by rockclimbers
