Description

Pitches: 8

One of the most stunning sites on the South Downs, and just a few miles from Brighton. Own tents and `Glamping` with the stunning Skyline Cabin high up in our orchard facing across the South Downs to Brighton and a glimpse of the sea.

Generous camping pitches with fire pits. Nearby clean composting Loos and Wash Block. Off grid charging, hot water for washing up (and you!) and gorgeous wolstonbury drinking water tap in barn next to carpark. Max 30 people on 54 acres.

We don`t take caravans or motorhomes, but we do take smaller camper vans on an elevated designated grass pitch. Limited parking is available.

Bronze Age monuments provide a sense of time, and 360 degree views over Sussex a massive sense of space. Skylarks sing and other wildlife abounds.

We hope you will love this sacred land as much as our other visitors - if in doubt do read the Google reviews too. All provisions are basic, but clean! Back to nature - reconnecting - is helped by the eco facilities, a gentle reminder this a stay integrated with nature

Solar power hot water in the barn, no smell eco green loo and 3 x stone floored washing bays with flannels provided. Washing up facilities also in barn.

Crockery and cutlery can be borrowed and other equipment hired such as futon rolls to help those who want to come by train or bus.

Shepherds Hut - a 16` Shepherds Hut is suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 children - that`s a squeeze though - we recommend the Skyline Cabin if 2 adults and 2 kids Provided; electric kettle, twin electric glass hob, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, lights, electrical socket for laptop/phone charging, cute woodburner, a little supply of wood for inside

See our Sacred Steps map for Wolstonbury Walking - with private access to the three Sheduled Bronze Age monuments on Chantry Farm - listed as ‘Nationally Important by English Heritage. Wolstonbury Hill is a sacred space - the perfect support for a Vision Quest. (* platform barrow 1500BC; a round barrow 2000BC and a 70m section of CrossRidge Dyke)

Chantry Farm is mainly sheep grazed, with an orchard and the beginnings of organic food production.

We don`t have a cafe or farm shop, but there`s a farm shop and cafe just down the track, 24 hour M&S and Plough Pub (good menu() 0.8 miles down road, Hassocks has a good range of local food,.. and we can provide a hot croissant and cuppa in the morning - please ask in advance.

Nearby Attractions

The Sea and the buzzing city of Brighton...with a million attractions!

Jack and Jill iconic windmills are very close along with the South Downs Way.. Jill is a working mill with her own website and is open most summer Sundays.. tea room too.

The walk (via the Jack and Jill pub) is through beautiful old beech woodland and around Wolstonbury Hill. The Plough is our closest pub at 0.7 miles away and has a huge range of meals and ample dining space in their conservatory.

The Royal Oak in Poynings is a lovely friendly country pub a perfect hours walk away, with scrummy food served all day.

Then there`s the Bull in the historic village of Ditchling, which again is a lovely walk across the downs ridge and taking in Ditchling Beacon (and its ice cream van), Ditchling Museum is pretty cool, and the Open Art Houses on May weekends are delightful. We thoroughly recommend visiting Jo Watters Palowski at No37. Her paintings of this area are divine.

Charleston with its range of interesting events is not far. The old market town of Lewes a serious walk, but well worth it when you get there. Loads of nice food places including an early Bills, plus oodles of antique shops down Cliffe HighStreet, and the old Harvey Brewery.
Acres of land around our farm is Open Access with criss crossing footpaths, plus there is a nearby riding school - Three Greys.
