One of the most stunning sites on the South Downs, and just a few miles from Brighton. Own tents and 'Glamping' with 2x Shepherds Huts facing the sunset 12' for one or two, 16' for families, and is a gorgeous camping experience. Own tent pitches are generous and individually spaced with own fire pits. Our Onion Lotus Belle Tent for 4 adults is listed under Yurts as its a similar canvas experience. Max 30 people on 54 acres.
Bronze Age monuments provide a sense of time, and 360 degree views over Sussex a massive sense of space. Skylarks sing and other wildlife abounds.
We don't take caravans or motorhomes, (nor camper vans - sorry) but limited parking is available.
We hope you will love this sacred land as much as our other visitors. All provisions are basic, but clean, theres hot water in the barn, green loo and rustic washroom. Washing up facilities also in barn. Crockery and cutlery can be borrowed and other equipment hired such as futon rolls and gas rings to help those who want to come by train or bus.
Chantry Farm is mainly sheep grazed, with an orchard and the beginnings of organic food production. We dont have a cafe or farm shop, but M&S are less than a mile down road in petrol station, Hassocks has a good range of local food, a d our pizza oven may be built by early summer!
Nearby Attractions
The Sea and the buzzing city of Brighton...with a million attractions!
Jack and Jill iconic windmills are very close along with the South Downs Way.. Jill is a working mill with her own website and is open most summer Sundays.. tea room too. The walk (via the Jack and Jill pub) is through beautiful old beech woodland and around Wolstonbury Hill. The Royal Oak in Poynings is a lovely friendly country pub a perfect hours walk away, with scrummy food served all day. Then there's the Bull in the historic village of Ditchling, which again is a lovely walk across the downs ridge and taking in Ditchling Beacon (and it's ice cream van). Acres of land around our farm is Open Access owned by the National Trust..
