Opening Dates this year: 01/01/2022 to 31/12/2022
Balloch O Dee is a small farm nestling at the foot of Culvennan Fell set in a stunning landscape on the edge of the Galloway National Forest Park. As well as some unique, quirky Indoor accommodation we have 5 hard-standing pitches all with electric hookup plus some grass Hook-up pitches for tents and enough space for approx 50 non-hook up tents over 20 acres all with fire pits for campfires. The emphasis is on a relaxed experience. We have tried to create the sort of campsite that, as a family, we would like to camp on.

In recent years there has been a trend towards 'Glamping' sites and while we do offer some alternative accommodation on site the overall experience we hope, still has a 'proper' camping feel. We are not a glamping site but a traditional campsite with some different options for you. :-)
We don't have many rules at Balloch O Dee. One of the things that used to drive me bonkers when we went camping was turning up on some campsite and the first thing we were given would be a long list of things that we were not allowed to do! What a welcome!
So you won't find a single notice or rule board at Balloch O Dee. You are on holiday, generally to get away from all the silly rules and regulations of everyday life. That's why we went camping.
What we do ask though is that you respect your fellow campers, the environment, and our Camp Ethos. :-)
There are a few things that we would always try and look for in a prospective campsite and these things we have tried, as much as possible, to incorporate into Balloch O ' Dee. We have just converted one of the barns into a lovely shower and toilet room with showers with extra large 'rainfall' shower heads, wash hand basins and washing up facilities all with piping hot water. There is also a place to empty your chemical toilet. Wi-Fi is sometimes available onsite. There are lots of flattish tracks for wonderful family cycling and plenty of stunning walks. With zero light pollution, Balloch O Dee is the perfect place for stargazing, in fact, you can see the shape of the milky way from the middle of the camping field. You are welcome to have a campfire if you wish, all pitches have a fire pit.
