Description
Pitches: 30
Opening Dates this year: 01/04/2022 to 30/09/2022
Willow Hill farm sits on a small hill five miles from the medieval town of Tewkesbury, commanding spectacular views over the Severn Vale and the Cotswolds, with open pastures off the beaten track. We offer quiet camping with limited facilities during May and June, and open fully from July.
We're friendly and informal with a chilled vibe, inviting camping guests to choose where to pitch on the Top Field. For those wanting more comfort there are three beautifully furnished and styled bell tents - Lapwing, Curlew and Woodpecker - on the edge of our old orchard, available from July, each offering something slightly different.
Each five-metre bell tent is rugged and made up with a kingsize bed, plenty of throws, bedside furniture, Roberts radio, mini fridge and soft lighting. In the evening, you can dine outside your tent in the glow of a firepit. For a family group, choose Woodpecker, which comes with a retro caravan Fledgling for your teens to enjoy just next door! If you're after a romantic break for two choose Lapwing. And for two to fourteen, choose Curlew, with orchard space for extra tents, own eco toilet and shower. Best of all, Curlew also comes with Swallow Summit, a gazebo with private dining area and BBQ enjoying total privacy and stunning views.
The farm is a peaceful family-friendly retreat, with plenty of space for children to play and explore. We welcome dogs too! There is a heated 32' x 16' swimming pool, with sun deck and panoramic views, for adults and supervised children. For younger ones there is a small bathing pool, plus outdoor games to pick up and play, as well as Craig our farm collie who loves to play fetch.
Serving food with provenance is an absolute passion of ours, and we are thrilled to welcome Mexican chef Noel Morales and family to add a twist to Willow Hill cuisine - google El Refugio Mezcaleria! The Mill Terrace has relaxed seating and a log burner for the evenings and the Cobney bar serves an extensive range of drinks ,all at very reasonable prices. In The Shrubbery, we have scattered dining around the trees, communal fire pits and artistic lighting for a magical evening atmosphere.
If you fancy your own cook up, you can pick up eggs, meats, vegetable and fruit produce, soft drinks, snacks, cakes and ice creams from our small farm shop. And you'll know the journey of everything you eat!
Nearby Attractions
Willow Hill offers children (and dogs!) the freedom to play, explore and get close to nature. Take your pick of games to play on the top field including farm croquet. And when the weather's hot, you can enjoy a swim in our heated outdoor Perry Pool while younger ones can play in Duck Splash bathing pool. For countryside days, you can explore our fields and water meadows with our self-guided nature trails, pick a path by the River Severn or call in to Coombe Hill nature reserve.
For days out further afield, hop in the car to the Forest of Dean, where you can test your nerve at Go Ape, hire bikes to take a trail or take a magical walk through Puzzlewood, film location for scenes in Star Wars, Merlin and Doctor Who!
From ancient forests, you can head to the rolling hills of the Cotswolds and take an outing to pretty villages and market towns where there's plenty for all the family to see and do.
Gloucester, a 20 minute drive, boasts historic docks and riverside walks, shops and eateries as well as The Quays retail outlet.

Owner Directions
Willow Hill is 15 minutes by car from the M5, Junction 9. From the motorway, take the A438 towards Tewkesbury, before reaching traffic lights with Morrisons Supermarket up ahead on the right. Turn left at the lights to take the town's A38 bypass and follow signs for Gloucester, navigating three roundabouts. As you leave Tewkesbury behind, the A38 straightens with some double carriage way. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right signposted for Ledbury on B4213. Follow for approximately two miles before taking a right turn into Sawpit Lane, signposted for Apperley. The road passes the village hall (on right) before reaching a T-junction. Turn left on to School Road and go past the primary school (on left), the village pond and war memorial (on right). The entrance to Willow Hill Farm is on the left, almost opposite a house named Holly Tree Cottage. The automatic gate has a security code - press the buzzer for entry. Nearest towns are Tewkesbury (6 miles), Gloucester (8 miles) and Cheltenham (9.5 miles).
