COVID UPDATE,OPEN, We are registered as a covid secure site by visit England tourist board and the Peak district national park.
Fieldhead is a tent only site situated in the picturesque village of Edale, at the start of the Pennine Way. In a area of outstanding natural beauty. 5 min walk from Edale station, on the Hope valley rail line.
The site is based at the Moorland / Visitor centre and is approx 400mts from Edale railway station and main car park.
The site was refurbished in 2017 with de-humidifiers and central heating throughout, fridge/freezer, digital showers and hair dryers, Hot Water all year.
The site has 3 fields adjacent to the car park, which is ideal for family camping, it also has 3 river side fields one of which is dedicated to backpackers only.
The site has a separate car park next to the camping fields (no vehicle access), with easy footpaths leading to the camping fields ensuring a quieter, peaceful stay.
The site is well used by youth organisations such as Duke of Edinburgh. It's 6 small camping fields makes it ideal for youth groups to be supervised by teachers, at the same time enabling the students to be self-sufficient and independent.
Being at the foot of Kinder scout the site is well used by outdoor enthusiasts. we are also a short drive from well known climbing areas such as Stanage and Burbage, making it a good base for climbers.

The campsite is located in the centre of Edale, so is a short walk from the station and other village facilities. Being at the foot of Kinder Scout, it is well used by hikers and mountain bikers. It is also a short drive from well known climbing areas such as Stanage Edge and Burbage.
