Damson Field is a small, quiet, pop-up site with 20 well spaced pitches set in a 10 acre field & situated in the peace & quiet of the East Sussex countryside, overlooking Bodiam Castle & near the village of Ewhurst Green. There are clean portaloos (separate male/female) & a standpipe with fresh water. As the site is rustic & unspoilt, there are no showers or waste disposal unit. The site is secure & fenced. Tents, campervans, motor homes only.

Owners Terry & Lynda (assisted by our lovely friend, the always smiling Nathan!) welcome you to visit Damson Field where you can BBQ, light your campfire in the evenings & chat, toast marshmallows or just sit & watch the night sky & listen to the sounds of nature. You wont believe just how many stars you can see! Wildlife is actively encourage - there are badgers, deer & pheasant in the area - lovely sounds to hear while watching the sun set!

The site is not suitable for games like football. Noise must be kept to an absolute minimum between the hours of 2300h and 0800h to allow all campers to get a well earned, restful night's sleep & we are mindful of locals living nearby.

NO parties, hen/stag nights or loud music (if other campers can hear your music/radio, IT'S TOO LOUD) - the emphasis is on getting back to nature & enjoying the wildlife, peace & quiet & beauty that the location offers; so please respect this & fellow campers.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to come for their holidays. ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD WHILST ON SITE & EXERCISED OFF SITE.

The affordable price of £10 for adults, £3.50 for children aged 3 - 15. Small people under 3 are free as are dogs. We sell fire wood, kindling & fire lighters & free use of fire pits. Arrivals between 1400h & 2000h please - earlier/later by prior arrangement - happy to try & accommodate! Departures by 12 noon unless otherwise arranged (we are flexible!). As this is a rustic field with no mod cons, we ask that you please take all your rubbish home with you on departure - please ensure you bring suitable rubbish bags. We can't emphasise enough that we strive to minimise environmental impact.

Please note that this is a rustic, simple, pop-up site in spring & summer (the best time of year of course!). The setting is idyllic & the local area is lovely & worth visiting.

We also offer the entire field for private/event hire & wedding/birthday hire all year round, & welcome artist camping weekends or similar groups. You just couldnt ask for a more picturesque venue!

Nearby Attractions

The area affords excellent walking/hiking & cycling opportunities around the beautiful countryside, as well as numerous interesting places to visit. Bodiam, Rye, Hastings, Hastings Old Town, historic Battle - "1066 Country", Battle Abbey & beautiful Camber beach are all within driving distance & have much to offer. There is a bus that runs to Hastings & back (and on to Ewhurst Green), which passes the main gate - the bus stop is only a short walk away. Bodiam Castle is a 20/25 minute walk where you will also find the Castle Inn pub and the Kent & East Sussex Railway (steam train to Tenterden) - all worth a visit!
