Alton Water is the largest water park in Suffolk with over 400 acres of beautiful countryside. With miles of tracks and trails, you can spend hours cycling or walking around the water.
Our campsite sits within the boundaries of the park, a stones throw away from our recently refurbished tea room and cycle hire shop. Also a very short walk away is the watersports centre and fun-packed, inflatable Aqua Park.
The site is a level, grassy area with 88 pitches served by electric hook-ups (fee applies). The toilet/shower block has a male and a female section, with 5 showers per section. Additionally, there is a covered area for dish washing and a waste facility at the rear.
Our newly refurbished tea rooms serve hot & cold refreshments, snacks and meals throughout the day if you fancy a break from the camping stove! A large patio area lets you sit and enjoy the Suffolk sunshine. Within easy reach (and sight) of the campsite and tea room is the new childrens play area and sandpit, so the little ones can burn off some of their energy while you relax!
If you have a car (or are willing to undertake long walks), you can visit popular spots such as Pin Mill on the River Orwell, were the Butt & Oyster gastro pub is perched on the waters edge. You can also find waters edge drinking and dining at Shotley Gate on the River Stour, where you can visit the Bristol Arms and the Ship Wreck which both offer great views of the estuary.
Ipswich is only a short bus/car journey away (8 miles) and is packed with the usual city-based attractions and shopping opportunities. Alternatively, you can visit Manningtree (5 miles).
For food shopping, Holbrook Co-op is only 5 minutes away by car and Stutton has a very nice community shop run by volunteers offering a wide range of local produce.
