A quiet and remote site, Glentrool Camping and Caravan Site is perfectly located for your expedition base camp. Situated within south-west Scotland's Galloway Forest Park and the UK's first Dark Sky Park - we have 300 square miles of rugged, breathtaking landscape to explore.
The area is home to a wide variety of wildlife including many birds of prey. Even if you don't feel like exhausting yourself, you can just relax in the peace and quiet and wait for the sun to go down to experience the incredible night sky from the comfort of your pitch.

We are around 9 miles north of Newton Stewart, just off the A714 (head for Glentrool). Around 55 miles east of Dumfries and 25 miles from Stranraer in the west, only a short drive from the Cairnryan / Belfast ferry route.
