A fantastic new site acquisition for The Camping and Caravanning Club in the heart of the beautiful Lake District.
This campsite was previously named Scotgate Holiday Park and has been re-named - Braithwaite Village.
Braithwaite Village is an outstanding campsite, offering camping facilities to suit all needs and tastes.
Braithwaite Village is nestled in the impressive backdrop of the Coledale Horseshoe and enjoys dramatic views towards Skiddaw and the Northern Fells.
Whinlatter Forest has superb mountain bike trails, walking and impressive children's adventure playgrounds and Go Ape! high ropes course.
The campsite is located at the foot of the Whinlatter Pass, making Braithwaite Village the perfect base for exploring the northern Lake District.
Nearby Attractions
Keswick Town Centre is a 40 minute walk or a 10 minute bus journey. Bus stop outside the park gates. Keswick is a bustling popular town with many bars and restaurants, cinema and the award winning Theatre by the Lake.
There are many events all year round including market days, Jazz and Beer Festivals. We are the closest campsite (1.5 miles)to the Whinlatter Visitor Centre, the base for Go Ape, Cyclewise, offering bike hire and trails for mountain bike enthusiasts of all levels, and the Bassenthwaite Osprey information centre with live links where you can watch the birds fishing, feeding and rearing their young.
The site is surrounded by some of the best walks in the Lakes, Skiddaw, Grizedale Pike and the Coledale Horseshoe.
