The town of Folkestone has a cobbled High Street, working harbour, promenade and a good selection of places to eat.
Folkestone Warren - home to the Club Site - is a Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest with nature trails and family activities throughout the year.
Day trips to France are available by ferry or using the Channel Tunnel.
The Royal Military Canal begins near Folkestone and passes through the lovely Cinque Ports of Hythe and Rye.
Lower Leas coastal path is part of the National Cycle Network.
The area's history during the Second World War is marked at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne and the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge.
