5-star Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site was originally the walled garden of a monastery and much of its original tranquil atmosphere remains intact. Sheltered & wooded on all sides, with glimpses of the nearby Firth of Forth through the tree branches, this secluded park is mainly level & beautifully landscaped, with plenty of open green spaces. The site operates a quiet site policy after 10.30pm which protects the peaceful haven.
At Drummohr guests can enjoy the best of both worlds, with the attractions of Edinburgh being easily accessible by bus or train, and the beaches and golf courses of East Lothian being just a short drive. A wealth of amenities can be found in Musselburgh, just 2 miles away.
Drummohr is open all year and has a small number of seasonal pitches for hire.
The team are focussed on a warm welcome and a personalised service to help all our guests get the best out of their stay.
The spacious and picturesque grass and hard-standing tent and touring pitches are generously spaced and all have electric hook-up. Some are serviced for water and grey waste.
Tents are welcome all year round. Backpackers and cyclists are welcome.
Drummohr is dog-friendly and there is an excellent private dog walk on the perimeter of the site, with other walks available close by through the grounds of the Prestongrange Museum, the Levenhall Links Nature Reserve and lagoons and along the John Muir Way on the shores of the Firth of Forth. Hot dog wash. Two well behaved dogs are welcome free of charge on the touring pitches and for a cleaning fee in the hot tub lodges.
For glampers there are a variety of glamping pod and bothy accommodation, some with private WC. Solo Octo pods are perfect for backpackers, double Hexi pods and deluxe bothies with toilet are perfect for couples seeking a value break to Edinburgh and for families there are themed Hexi pods with 4 large bunkbeds and family bothies with en-suite toilets and a small kitchenette. Linen packs and croc boxes available for hire.
Luxury 2 and 3-bedroom holiday lodges, some with private hot tub, nestle in a quiet corner of the park and a 4-star self-catering cottage with hot tub at the site entrance is also available for rent.
Two amenity blocks, fully refurbished in 2023, have free hot showers, family accessible bathrooms with baths, chemical toilet disposal point, laundry room, dishwashing, baby changing area and indoor campers kitchen with vending machines.
Information room, small, licensed shop offering essentials and local produce, including gin, ice cream and real ales. Secure bike storage and EV charging point.
Free WiFi.
Large childrens playground.
Fire pits for hire, we do not allow guests to use their own. BBQs for hire.
Bus stop to Edinburgh and North Berwick is a 5-minute walk from the site entrance. Wallyford is a 15-minute walk, where there is a large park and ride and a train station, with trains departing hourly to North Berwick and Edinburgh Waverley.
The Royal Musselburgh golf course sits next door to the site and Musselburgh racecourse is easily accessible. Drummohr is an ideal location from which to enjoy the Musselburgh races or Edinburgh concerts and attractions, including the Edinburgh Christmas markets, Edinburgh Fringe and Edinburgh Festival and the Princes St Hogmanay celebrations.
Nearby Attractions

The campsite is located between the B1361 and B1348 heading East on the A1 from Musselburgh towards North Berwick. There are brown tourist signs from the A1 as you pass through Wallyford.
If travelling from Musselburgh along the B1348 watch for the large chimney of the Preston Grange Industrial Heritage Mining Museum and take the road on the right signposted to the museum. Please note that there is a tight corner prior to the campsite and therefore this route may not be suitable for caravans.
