A peaceful, family-run site on a working Yorkshire farm.
For over 30 years, the Gowthorpe family has welcomed guests. Today, Angus and Kerry continue the tradition started by Margaret and Peter, offering a quiet and relaxing escape just 7 miles south of the historic city of York.
Our Pitches: Set on a well maintained 1.25-acre grass field, our site is designed for those who value peace and simplicity. The grass is mown frequently and hedge trimmed after bird nesting season. The site is kept tidy, but not perfectly manicured. Working with nature wherever possible is the ethos that underpins our farming business, and this is extended to our caravan site by making space for nature through leaving grasses and foliage to grow within hedge bottoms, with the exception of nettles and thistles, which are spot treated around the caravan site.

On-site Facilities: While we do not have a shower block, a toilet is available for guest use a short walk from the site.

Riccall Village (0.5 miles): A short walk away, featuring local shops, cozy pubs, a cafe, a takeaway, and an excellent Italian restaurant.
York City Centre (7 miles): Reach the heart of York in just 25 minutes by car.
Easy Transport: A bus stop is located just 500m from the site with a regular service to York and Selby.
Exploring Further: The Yorkshire Coast, Wolds, and Moors are all reachable within an hour’s drive.
Walking & Cycling On the Farm: Guests are welcome to explore our farm tracks—perfect for a morning stroll.
The Solar System Way: Join the famous Sustrans York-Selby cycle track at Riccall for a flat, traffic-free walk or ride into York.
Nature nearby: Beautiful woodland and riverside paths are just a few minutes` drive from our gates.
Dog Owners Well behaved dogs are very welcome. We simply ask that they are kept on a lead while on the premises, and that waste is bagged and binned.

From the South (Selby) A19 north of Selby to Riccall. At north edge of Riccall at waiting area in the middle of the road turn right onto York Road. Continue for 500m crossing over the bridge and the farm is set back from the road on the right hand side.
From the North (York) A19 south of York through Escrick towards Riccall. 2.5 miles south of Escrick turn left onto sideroad signposted Hollicarrs. 400m turn left onto farm drive.
