Description

Seatoller Farm is a traditional Lakeland 16th century farm located at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley amidst towering fells, making this the ideal base for walking or simply relaxing in the enchanting English Lake District.

The campsite is located about 200 metres from the farm. Surrounded by traditional Lakeland dry stone walls and the River Derwent, this campsite has stunning views of the surrounding fells of Borrowdale.

With space for about 70 tents, this campsite offers visitors a quiet, picturesque base to enjoy the numerous walks in some of the Lakes highest mountains and gentle riverside strolls.

Shower facilities are located at the farm with washing facilities available in the camping field. Campers are requested to visit the farmhouse prior to pitching.

The woodlands surrounding Seatoller campsite are designated sites of special scientific interest (SSSI) and are therefore protected, cared for and managed with sensitivity. We would ask campers not to remove standing or dead wood from the woodlands as campfires are not permitted.

There is a regular bus service which runs between Seatoller and Keswick.

The working hill farm is owned by The National Trust and your hosts, Christine will ensure that you will have a warm friendly welcome and enjoyable stay.

Nearby Attractions

Seatoller Farm is about a 15 minute drive from the bustling market town of Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District National Park and 4 miles from Derwentwater.

The possibilities for walking are almost boundless from Seatoller Farm but a short list of possibilities would include:-

Scafell, Glaramara, Great Gable, Catbells, Derwent River, Allerdale Ramble, High Spy, Coast to Coast, Cumbria Way.

Directions

From Keswick follow signs for Borrowdale and the B5289, continue on this road past the village of Grange and through the village of Rosthwaite. Seatoller is about one mile after Rosthwaithe, just before the road goes steeply up over Honister Pass.

Keswick lies about 15 minutes drive away or there is a regular bus service from the farm. There are pubs and restaurants in the valley for meals and a village shop in the neighbouring village of Rosthwaite.
