Situated in the heart of the Peak District with direct access to the Tissington and High Peak Trails, The Royal Oak Camp Site offers a great, picturesque base for groups and families wanting to explore.
Great cycling routes, walking loops and climbing nearby, you can certainly indulge what the Peak District has to offer by way of dales, limestone gorges and prominent peaks.
With 20 pitches offering 3 sizes of standard, large & super, The Royal Oak Campsite is perfect for both small and large groups.
We offer designated pitches which are marked out so that you know you have a specific space for both your tent and car. A standard pitch is 6 metres x 8 metres and a large pitch is 8 metres x 10 metres. You can also upgrade to a super pitch which is 8 metres x 12 metres and includes a picnic bench and fire pit for your private use.
Washroom facilities are shared with the bunk barn, there are separate facilities for males and females; both have toilets, sinks and hot showers which are included in the tariff.
After working up an appetite exploring the impressive Peak District landscape, there is an award-winning country pub on site offering a fantastic variety of hearty, delicious meals catering for both small tables and large groups. You can also gear up for the day by taking advantage of the freshly ground local coffee and tempting breakfast options. We are now serving hand stretched pizzas outside on Friday evenings and all day Saturday.
The Royal Oak also has a bunk barn on site sleeping 1-34 guests.
