Faerie Thyme, a magical place in Wales. You will find us just a few miles southeast of Carmarthen, Wales's oldest market town, full of history and believed to be the birth place of Merlin. We are an adult only site, allowing our guests a peaceful and relaxing stay. We are open all summer for camping, hire or our vintage caravans and we can take three campervans. We also cater for weddings, parties and group hire. Our camping field is lush mown green grass surrounded by beautiful ancient woodlands. Each pitch is bordered by hazel fences, trees and shrubs. Around the edge of the site is a footpath that will take you on some breathtaking walks over the mountain onto an SSSI where you will find standing stones, cairns and wild ponies graze and the wildlife and flora is amazing.Around the edge of the site are little places to go and sit and enjoy the peace and quiet that is Faerie Thyme. The site shop runs on an honesty basis. Fresh eggs, logs for the fire and basic essentials are available as well as camping essentials that you might have forgotten. The loo's and showers have all been upgraded since the last reviews, proper flushing loos and two showers are all close to the camping field, together with washing up facilities with hot water, fresh water and grey water disposal, so all within very easy reach of your caravan or tent. We have also upgraded our on site buggies. They are all electric now so no noise taking you up to your pitch. We now also have a pizza oven which we light at weekends if our guests want it, and pop up bar facilities on a Saturday night when the site is busy. Check availability on our website.
Attractions are many and varied. Plenty of good walking and cycling. The common here in Crwbin is an SSI and from the highest point you can see 360degrees. The views are quiet simply breathtaking. Close by is The National Botanic Gardens (we have bogof tickets), Aberglasney Gardens, the beaches at Pembrey, Kidwelly Castle, Laugharne (Dylan Thomas's boathouse). Pendine Sands, Narbeth - a beautiful town with lots of interesting shopping. We also have a lovely pub in the next village which serves fabulous food, and the local supermarket bakes its own bread daily. In Carmarthen Market you will find a huge selection of local produce, art and crafts.
Please see our website for easy directions how to get to us. We are on the B4306 in between Carmarthen and Pontyberem.
