Directions
Sessay and The Oaks Lakes are not difficult to reach by car/motorhome. Sessay is about a mile inland from the A19, the major trunk road which runs parallel to the A1 between York and Thirsk.
A19 from York: travel north and the Sessay turn off is five miles beyond Easingwold.
A19 from Thirsk: travel south and after about four miles turn off right for Sessay.
From the A1 (Dishforth interchange), take Junction 49, then merge onto the A168. Then branch onto the A167 towards Dalton and continue onto Sessay

Nearby Attractions
If you don't want to fish then there is plenty to do whatever time of the year you visit.
Walking, cycling and touring are all available around this area - the landscape of the moors and dales, Bronte Country, York the city with its minster and Jorvik Viking Centre are just a 25 minutes drive along the A19. Thirsk and Sutton bank which is regular featured on CHANNEL 5 THE YORKSHIRE VET and JAMES HERRIOT is 5 miles away. The spa town of Harrogate is also easily accessible by car.
There are numerous other places to visit in the region: castles, abbeys and stately homes such as Castle Howard, Helmsley Castle, Beningborough Hall, Newby Hall, Duncombe Park and the abbeys of Byland, Rievaulx and Fountains are all within 30 minutes of Sessay.
The surrounding villages also have some lovely country pubs servicing great evenings meals.
