M62 will lead you to the A63 to Hull. Keep following signs to Withernsea and Hedon (A1033). At the (Marfleet roundabout) take a left sign posted (Bridlington, York, Beverley ring road). Approx 2 miles turn right at crossroads signed (A165 Bridlington). Follow signs to Bridlington. After (Tony Cooks) garden centre, turn right sign posted (New Ellerby, Hornsea). At New Ellerby T Junction turn left sign posted (Hornsea). Just after (White Dale Garage) turn left signposted (Hornsea, Hatfield). When you reach Great Hatfield, passed the Wrygarth Inn, the road bends left, then right, approx 500m take the first right signposted (Wickernwick, Aldbrough) then take immediate left. Wood Lake Campsite is the first turning on your right.
WOOD LAKE CAMPSITE & CARAVAN PARK is situated on the outskirts of a small historic village of Great Hatfield, within the village is a pub / restaurant / shop - ( Wrygarth Inn)
From this village various bridleways inc transpennine way cycle / walks into hornsea .
Nearest beach is Mappleton sands, (2.5m) popular with sea anglers and dog walkers and has a dog friendly tea shop ( the post office ).
Just 3.5 m away is the historic coastal town of Hornsea which is full of amenities and attractions such as a sandy beach with ice-cream parlours, amusement arcades, indoor swimming pool, tourist information, museum, retails outlets, resaturants' cafes and wine bars not forgetting the tradition fish and chip shops.
The Hornsea Mere, one of the largest lakes in the UK offering boating trips, rowing boats, bird watching and fresh water fishing.
