Excellent experience here despite very wet weather, arrived 18:30 on a dark, wet Friday night to be met at the barrier by the exceptionally helpful warden (Mick) who showers us to our pitch and water tap.
The facilities here are amongst the best that we have experienced here in the UK, clean, spacious and warm, it would be very hard to find fault with them.
We didn’t really get much of an opportunity to explore for a variety of reasons but will be heading back enjoy this site some more, there are regular buses to Nottingham as well.
On the Saturday morning a van arrived serving breakfasts and that evening we treated ourselves to baked potatoes and pizza.
There is a cafe and small shop on site but we never had reason to use it.
This is the best Caravan and Camping Club site that we have experienced so far although finding the turning on a dark, very wet night was a real challenge - it needs better (maybe illuminated) signage.

It's a quite big site, with a mix of grass and hardstandings, all level and a good size.
Staff were very friendly and offered us a choice of hardstandings.
Facilities were warm and clean. The shower compartments are large with a sink as well.
There is a coffee shop as part of reception.
TV and phone signals are good. Wifi is included.
There is axpub a few minutes walk away, next to the park and ride bus stop. Buses run into Nottingham regularly.
We visited Nottingham and enjoyed our visit.
Turn left out of the site and you can drivecto Cotgrave where there are a couple of pubs, a supermarket and fuel station.
There is also a footpath which goes to a country park. Cross the road and go up, the steps by the bridge and you are on the footpath.
Please be careful crossing the road as it can be busy.
Surprisingly little road noise on the site.

This was our first visit to the Nottingham site, and we were looking forward to finding somewhere close to the city.
Arriving at site we were welcomed in a friendly and helpful way. The site reception, coffee shop and facilities were modern and clean, and the main road through one area of the site had been resurfaced.
The pitches were flat and well kept, however the rest of the access roads to both areas of the site were very narrow and muddy. I had trouble reversing my 6. 5m MH onto the allocated pitch without going on the grass leaving large vehicle tracks.
Walking to and from the main access road meant walking on the muddy track too.
The site is well serviced by a bus every 20m to Nottingham, has a nice pub a 5m walk from the site, and walks to Cotgrove Park or Radcliffe on Trent.
The site ticks so many boxes that it could be a gem in the CCC portfolio, but the access roads need to be improved inside the site.

Great site for a stopover travelling North to South. We booked for two nights and stayed for three.
Only been run by the Caravan and Camping Club for a year - facilities are clean and spacious - especially the showers. S
Taff were friendly and helpful and we were impressed by the coffee shop/ cafe on site offering cakes and pastries morning and afternoon.
Play area for children.
We stayed on the Orchard field - good flat, level pitches well spaced.
Some road noise but didn’t affect our enjoyment of the site.
Pub serving food a short walk from the site and an excellent bus service into Nottingham.

Absolutely lovely site. Quiet, well spaced out and suitable for all different types of camping. Newly opened site, with coffee shop and shop.
The site personnel have all been very friendly. Level pitches. All amenities. Very impressed.
Very easy access to Nottingham town centre.
Pub across the road.
Supermarket 5 mins away.
Lots of places to visit from this site.

Had a lovely night on the first night, but returned on the second night to a full campsite.
Only one very small area to park our campavan ( we booked a fully serviced hardstanding pitch) but the person to the free side of us had parked their car on the grass, so nowhere to sit out.
We decided to move on rather than create a fuss. 😒

We have visited this site many times, but this was our first visit after the Caravan and Camping Club had taken this over.
On arrival, we noticed the entrance looked very smart with a new tarmac road, and barrels of flowers. We were greeted by one of the wardens, who was very friendly and walked us down to our pitch. As the pitch we requested had a different number, we were not sure if this was the one we wanted, but we were delighted to see it was indeed our favourite one.
The grounds looked lovely and the new Manager and wardens were very approachable and friendly. We enjoyed our 8 nights, and are looking forward to our next visit. Absolutely 10/10.
The site is located near a lovely Country Park, and close to the village of Cotgrave. The site location is approached off a very busy road, but the traffic noise is not a problem on site.

Pleased to be the first cyclist at this new site! Nice separate area for cyclists and backpackers. Smart new facilities block, and there's even a cafe. Barely audible and not problematic road noise.
Pleasant old railway track just over the road, going to Radcliffe one way and Cotgrave the other. Cotgrave Country Park is nice, and there's great cycling round about.
Lovely little villages in a quiet part of the country.
It's only 6 miles from where I live so I'll be back whenever I need a quick shot of tent life!

Great bank holiday weekend spent at Thorntons Holt.
Site was well appointed, and the staff were friendly and helpful in the shop/ office/ cafe.
The pub restaurant around the corner is a five minute walk and offers a good selection of food, with a good carvery.
There is also some lovely walks across the road, if you take the steps up to the bridge. The road is very fast, so bear that in mind.
Showers were huge, and well thought out. Including two seats, one of which in a "dry" area. Big enough for parent and child, but I believe there were family facilities (which we didn't use).
We stayed on pitch 11, and the power did trip on us. Apparently this can happen, but was sorted relatively quickly by the on site staff.

What a lovely relaxed place this was.
All units spaced safely without any silly 'club' jobsworths.
It was reasonably priced.
A large group of families from a local club had been allowed to park near each other. They were also offered a sizable area to play their organised games, with no policing other than checking with us we were OK with it. We were, I'm not too sure the latest owners will be allowing such a happy gathering though.
A shame as we used to love it here.
