Still as good this year.
We first stayed at this Site in 2025 and said we'd come back. And we're glad we did. This time, we got a grass pitch nearer the facilities block so less walking.
The facilities are still as clean and well kept, like the rest of the Site. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, about 15 minutes into Craster and 5 minutes to the Cottage Inn.
The only drawback is that the bus timetable has got worse over the years we've been coming to the area. Buses are now pretty infrequent.
Aln Valley Railway just outside Alnwick is worth a visit.

This is a very good campsite, nicely laid out with well-spaced pitches and edged on one side by a belt of trees.
The facilities are immaculate and the office/shop well-run by helpful staff and the shop well-stocked.

The best campsite we've ever been to. Super clean and impeccably maintained down to the smallest detail. Even the decor in the washrooms and play areas is fantastic.
But the best part is the wonderful, incredibly friendly staff. Totally helpful and always ready to help.
The fantastic location next to the sheep pastures, with the possibility of walking to the nearest village, the beach, and the castle, makes it perfect!
It almost couldn't be better.

A very nice little site.
Only 16 pitches but site clean with plenty of flowers.
Well looked after.
Would recommend.
Situated close to a river.
Ideal for visiting Northumberland Coast

We loved the location, an easy walk to Craster to buy the delicious kippers and to The Cottage Inn, which served excellent food at very reasonable prices.
The site facilities were excellent and always spotlessly clean and each pitch had plenty of space.
The only disappointment was that we weren't allowed to put up our freestanding 2x2 square metre annexed. We have a small Eriba caravan, with no awning, and we therefore had nowhere to store chairs, boots or wet coats.
Most caravans were twice the size of ours, with awnings. We understand the no tent rule, but a small storage annexe, not used for sleeping should be allowed. Hence a score of 9, not 10!

Site felt crowded; the pitches seemed a bit smaller than on other sites we've visited this year.
The wifi was variable and not consistent enough for listening to BBC Sounds on the radio, a low bar I would say. We also felt the electric ampage supply was too low for our modest needs.
No queues in the shower/toilet /dishwashing areas but the facilities seem tired and in need of modernising.
The grey waste disposal point is very awkwardly located, so we didn't use it although we had wanted to.
No local map was provided (unlike to other recent reporters) but a short paragraph on their printed instructions was clear enough for a good walk to the excellent Dunstanburgh castle - the main reason for us coming to this area.
Easy walk into the rather disappointing and crowded Craster, where a pub lunch was enjoyed at 'London prices'.
I am not a fan of sites that make you pay in full in advance for your booking, but then refuse to compensate you for unused nights if circumstances change, so won't be coming back here.

Site was easy to find, about a mile outside of the small fishing village of Craster.
Made very welcome on arrival and booking in and told about the location of facilities and pitch, and given a small map of the area, as well as site information, together with barrier card.
A smallish site divided up by mature hedging, some grass and some hard standing pitchers.
Good facilities block, which were always clean with roomy shower cubicles, electric units providing warm showers.
Fresh water and grey waste easily located when required, also enclosed refuse area preventing bins blowing open.
Liked the covered and enclosed chemical disposal point, with flush and rinsing facilities, also hand sanitizer.
Good location for discovering local villages and places to eat, or enjoy a cuppa, but probably best to book in advance as places can get busy.

Great website, booking confirmed immediately. Very friendly and helpful staff, loaned us a longer hookup cable as ours didn’t reach the point. The site is separated into fields by large very high hedges, which is great as it also sheltered our motor home from wind.
Pitches are great. We had a hard standing but grass pitches also look good.
The facilities seemed quite new, very well organised and immaculate. Hot showers with an area to store your clothes to keep them dry, well organised bins and recycling area and some picnic benches. We found that showers and toilets seemed to be kept clean at least twice a day.
Two pubs in walking distance, there is a small shop on site although best to fetch things for breakfast or a barbecue with you as it didn’t stretch to stocking items for them. We’d definitely return to the site.

First time to this site and we really enjoyed it.
The pitches are mainly grass (which we like) but there are some hard standings.
The site managers were very friendly and kept the facilities spotless. I think that the facilities must have been upgraded recently as they seemed modern.
Wi Fi was very good from our pitch until the site became full, when it became intermittent. The mobile signal on O2 was quite poor but the television signal was very good.
There is a fairly easy walk to Craster from the site and we were given a pictorial map of a circular walk which took in both Dunstanburgh castle and Craster.
The local pub serves in the village of Dunstan very good food and the beer isn't bad either.
We would stay on this site again.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome.
The staff were all friendly and helpful and had a lot of local knowledge.
The facilities were spotless and the whole site was well cared for.
You can tell the staff enjoy working at Proctor's Stead and care about the place and the people staying there.
They made a fuss of our two dogs and there was always a treat for them when we passed reception.
This was our first stay, but it certainly won't be our last.

Lovely site in an excellent location.
Well maintained facilities with shop on site.
10 minutes walk to pub with food and bus stop.
About a mile from the coast and village of Craster.
Good walks from the site. We would return.

My 4th visit to this site.
It's well maintained, my pitch was peaceful with a view over the fields to the North of the site.
A great base for cycling the coastal cycle paths and roads.
The coastal walks are immediately accessible and ideal for nature spotters.
I'm particularly grateful to the hosts and their response to my forgotten cycle shirt (found in shower cubicle). Within a day of getting a post paid package to them I received my shirt.
I'll return again.
