 Myself and my son stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely quiet, peaceful site with good amenities.
Toilet/ shower block was nice and showers were really good. Used the washing up room and found it nice and clean, nice touch providing washing up liquid and clothes.
X4 bus right outside campsite was ideal for a trip to Whitby, and really cheap, £3/a, £1/c. Would definitely stay here again.
Our only downside which is nothing to do with the site was after we'd parked up and got ourselves sorted, the pub across the road doesn't serve food on a Monday, and the chip shop is closed Monday/Tuesday.

We were very impressed with your site
You have all amenities any one would need
The toilets and showers are spotless clean and beautifully even if you are camping the washing room as a washer/ dryer /kettle / and a microwave
Bus stop outside of camp that takes you every were and they are every 30 minutes until later then every hour, we have a motor home so this was a bonus for us no more trying to park somewhere, plus what we saved on petrol and parking fees
Staff very friendly
We will go back there again and again PS would like to thank all the staff Mrs conley

A very friendly welcome. A good, flat, well drained pitch with astroturf covering, so no grass trailed into the tent.
Facilities were clean.
The kitchen area was very good with a microwave, kettle and toaster for campsite users use (also washing machine and tumble drier available at additional charge).
The wifi hut has wifi access, a table and chairs as well as sofas, a welcome place to sit when it gets a bit chilly too.
Two pubs and a chippy within walking distance.
I would easily stay here again.

What a lovely site, would definitely return.
Met by a lovely lady who showed us to our pitch. Tent field a little uneven but okay. We had an electric pitch which did trip a few times but signs do inform you this.
Toilets spotless, best we have ever had, plenty of room in the showers, would have liked an electric socket for straightener/hairdryer.
Utility room, washer, dryer, microwave, toaster, fridge, washing up sinks.
Wi-Fi room, comfy sofas and books.
In the town there are 2 pubs, fish shop and butchers.
Great location for walking on the Cleveland way, we walked to staithes and runswick bay.
Would definitely come back.

This is a really lovely site in a great location. Very quiet.
Pitches are slightly sloping, a wheel ramp was needed on my hardstanding but wasn’t a problem pitching. The site is well maintained, grass mown. It is easy to find and access off the main road, though some better signage as you get close would be good.
There is a bridle path behind the site for easy dog walks in a morning round the back of the village and further afield to Runswick Bay and Staiths. Bus stops on the main road can take you to Whitby, Saltburn etc.
Toilet block is well kept, the family shower / toilet rooms are great. Water points are conveniently located around the site. Staff friendly and approachable. Electricity is a bit temperamental when campers try using too much equipment at once apparently and it is well signed asking you to switch things off before putting something else on so the electrics don’t trip. Didn’t experience any problems when I was there.
Would definitely return when I’m the area.
A nice information hut with Wi-Fi. DVDs and books available to borrow.
The chip shop in the village, my fish was delicious, light crispy batter and scraps. Not too sure on the crinkle cut chips though, something just not quite right, I suppose I’m just not used to having them at the chip shop! Reasonably priced and cooked to order. There is a tea room in the village and 2 pubs, though I didn’t try them.
Local beaches at Sandsend and Saltburn were great for the dog, Sandsend in particular was fabulous at low tide. The dog really enjoyed himself. Parking on the road towards Whitby was only 40p for an hour, just long enough for a walk along the beach and back.
There is a stables next door behind the hard standings with a whiff of dirty horse bedding on the breeze, so if you don’t like country smells you may be better on a grass pitch.

This is a lovely site, with a good location For the Yorkshire coast.
The big negative was on both the Friday and Saturday nights when they were busier, the electricity went off 5 or 6 times each night, and on also Saturday morning too.
Each time you had to wait while the warden drove up to the supply box and reset the trip. Sometime it was quite quick and sometimes you had to wait a few minutes for the electric to come back on. This was annoying for us as we were trying to watch live tv at the time. I was told by one of the staff that it’s because campers using too much electric with domestic kettle, air driers, but if each pitch had a 10 or 12amp trip, then that would stop the campers doing so, but it’s the overall supply which is not enough for all there EHU they have. (maybe too many?)
There was also a note in red on a printed leaflet with info about the site which is given on arrival, that warns that the site has a limited electric supply, and asking campers to switch off heating before using kettles and microwaves, so this did set alarm bells ringing. So the issue was already known to them?
This is not fair when you are paying good money per night, and for EHU, that they cannot supply. This was disappointing when it is a nice site.

What a lovely peaceful site, ideally situated for visiting the North York coast.
A well kept site, bordered by high bushes and trees but still with nice views of the countryside.
Excellent facilities, clean modern toilet/shower block and friendly staff.

Lovely clean site in a good location for walks and for eating with a local butchers, a fish & chip shop and 2 pubs virtually on its doorstep. (We can certainly recommend the food at the pub virtually opposite the entrance to the site).
The showers were clean and well maintained and the staff were helpful.
If you like walking then there is a nice coastal walk to nearby Staithes which is lovely little town.
The pitch fees were a little expensive but I suppose we were staying during the August holidays.

Lovely peaceful site.
Showers always clean, wifi hub great idea, comfy seats can make a drink, lots of walks straight from site.
Local bus can take you along the coast.
Fish and chips in village lovely, butchers great pork pies !
So great location.

Brilliant site nice And tranquil,
Excellent toilets and shower block, other facilities that I didn't use.
Check in was quick young lad escorted me to my pitch which is easily marked out
Would definitely stay again

Lovely well maintained campsite and facilities were excellent (even soft closing toilet seats!)
Owners regularly check campers are keeping within the rules.
Had a problem with electric tripping and owner supplied free another cable to try however eventually tracked it down to my settings for hot water too high.
Would definitely recommend

Booked in January for our stay at the end of May.
Arrived to be greeted by the female owner sorry can’t remember her name. Walked to the pitch gave us a leaflet with a map of the site. Got set up and waited for 2 other family members to arrive.
Site clean and tidy, toilets cleaned daily 2 male showers female also. A family shower room adjacent to the main toilet.
Quite a few permanent pitches on the site.
No recycling everything goes in a skip and the skip company sorts it out, odd!
Nearby places are Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Staithes. We visited all three. We walked to Staithes via a wood just at the back of the site.
There’s a Wi-Fi hut where you can get on the internet.
There’s 2 pubs in the village we visited the one just outside the site very friendly and good lager.
The area is outstanding for walking we had two dogs.
Whitby is close by as is Scarborough.
Overall great site and will certainly return one day

A great site, beautifully situated in quiet area. Hard standing pitches very well spead out and sizeable.
Wardens very helpful and pleasant. Facilities very clean when done, but can get trashed with grass and mud, presumably from the campers.
Only two male and two female shower cubicles (plus one family room), so they get well used and you may have to wait at busy times. They are very serviceable but starting to get a little shabby.
No recycling (not the owners fault) so we took ours home.
WiFi only in information hut, which is a nice facility, but 4G is available everywhere on site.
Be aware that there is a sharp turn and narrow entrance off the main road.
There also seems to be some wood burning on adjacent land (with a short chimney). When we were there it smoked the site out, filling caravans with clouds of smoke and driving everyone indoors (despite the warm evening). I'm not sure how frequently this happens, and the wind direction will play an important part, but it seems to be a regular business (kiln?) rather than a one-off event. Unfortunately for us it spoilt an otherwise great site and location.

A great site ideally located for walking the Cleveland Way and on the doorstep for Staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby.

One of my favourite sites in several years of campervanning. Fab location in centre of village, excellent check-in and introduction.
Lovely sunny grass pitch on left of touring field. Excellent bridlepath outside the gate for dog walks, or to connect with wider footpath network.
Hinderwell between Staithes and Runswick Bay, both walkable along coast path. Runswick Bay great for fossil hunting.
Also the nearest beach Mulgrave Port - access not easy involving a scramble with ropes - but great for fossil hunting and unusual history. Local butchers also sells fresh bread and pastry items if you're early enough.
Two family bathrooms were a great idea. WiFi/Information Lounge really useful and comfortable. Wardens and owner friendly and helpful.
A fantastic break and would love to return. Nothing specifically for children except the great outdoors, but I think it is more suited to adults in view of village location.
Co-op on outskirts of Staithes about 20 minutes walk via main road. Local chipshop open Thursday to Saturdays.
