Just got back from a fantastic trip to the Lakes and our stay at Lane Foot farm (the brilliant weather helped)

Very easy to find as you pass Keswick, the site has several fields on either side of the farmhouse which houses the reception (which also had a small selection of essentials) the bulk of the toilets, three showers and the washing up area. There's maps and leaflets there too.

We were given a friendly welcome on arrival and told which field we would be on and where to park as you cannot drive into the field. The field is small, its generally flat and well maintained. In fact the whole place is well maintained and clean. Underfloor heating in the shower area is a lovely touch.

It's a lovely back to basics campsite. Internet and signal (well for us anyway) was pretty much non existent, the no music at all rule makes for a really peaceful place.

A big win for me, and part of my search for all campsites is the ability to have a campfire. Off the ground, either by using your own or hiring one (£13 for a firepit and a bag of wood). Perfect. You have to burn the wood they sell, a bag easily lasts a night and is £9.

This campsite offers electric hook ups, hard standing pitches, caters for caravans, campervans and tents.

It's a wonderful base for exploring the local area and is close to Whinlatter forest, Keswick and the surrounding hills. Keswick itself is only a 7 minute drive away and if you have forgotten any gear then there's plenty of camping shops there.

My only issue was the road noise that travels from the a66 as the site isn't that far away from the site. But earplugs sorted that out and it's not the sites fault. Just remember to take some if you are a light sleeper. We are definitely going to return.

Just like something out of Beatrix Potter, we loved our stay at Lanefoot Farm campsite -including nightly visits from Mrs Tiggiewinkle!

Rustic farm, the facilities were always kept impeccably clean and in excellent working order. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming.

We will definitely be returning again next year. Nice that we could choose our own pitch. Plenty of space in the camping field.

Really convenient access into Keswick via A66 does mean you get some traffic noise. The outlook though is so idyllic it more than makes up for it. Lots of walking options direct from the site.

A lovely campsite with good facilities and lovely crew.

Had an issue with noisy campers one night, but talked to the staff and they talked to them and the next night was all quiet.

So very impressed and lovely staff!

Also has gorgeous veiw to wake up to every morning: Dodd wood, Little Man and Skiddaw

We were sited in the first field behind the amenity block.

The owners are only mowing pathways through the grass so you feel like your pitch is lovely and secluded.

There are two ladies and two gents toilets in the block but there wasn’t any hand drying options in the ladies, there are more across the lane in the other field.

There are only three showers so there can be a queue at busy times, mainly early evening I think.

I was attracted to this site because of the strict no music rule, I want to soak up the tranquillity of the natural surroundings, but there’s always one isn’t there? Fortunately this was dealt with swiftly when I raised it with the owner.

The lane also offers a short walk to Braithwaite where we ate at a couple of excellent pubs, Royal Oak and The Coledale Inn.

This campsite is a little gem, it is really lovely, very peaceful, so clean and tidy. Hot water for washing up and showers.

You are in different areas within the farm, you have plenty of space.

The reception has a small shop with essentials, the staff could not have been more helpful, they were knowledgeable of the area and advised which routes to get to which peak.

You are right at the base of some of the peaks and also down the road from Braithwaite.

You could not always pick up the internet but is that really a problem.

Will be back another time and would recommend this site

 A friendly welcome.

The site and facilities were kept clean and well maintained throughout our stay.

An ideal location to explore the surrounding area directly from the site, and excellent places to eat only a short 20 minute walk.

Lovely little site with friendly staff and great views.

Shower/ cleaning block and toilets were always clean.

Quiet site with sheep in the farmyard.

We wont bother to look elsewhere when visiting the Lakes again as this place is pretty perfect.

Had a great stay at Lanefoot Farm, reception was open the majority of the time and they always went out of their way to help you.

The view from our tent was amazing, it is by far the best we have had so far.

The campsite was quiet by 10pm, as requested in the campsite rules which is great when have young children trying to sleep.

Facilities were also very clean and well maintained, again better then other sites we have been too.

Would not hesitate to book here again, we loved our stay and will be back again soon!

Thank you Lanefoot Farm!

Not too noisy and in a beautiful location.

Owner of the site was helpful and friendly.

Gorgeous farm site with amazing views, perfect location for walks in the forest.

A tiny bit of road noise but not too bad at all. Lovely hot showers, EHU, rubbish and elsan disposal.

No Wi Fi which was a bit of a shame, I ended up driving home after one night rather than stay the two I booked because I had an online meeting and my mobile signal wasn't going to cut it :(

Really helpful staff. A little on the pricey side but you're paying for the amaing location I guess.

Will be coming back when I don't have any stupid meetings to go to!

We stayed at the farm campsite for 3 nights, lovely little campsite, 4 small fields, very peaceful.

Toilets were nothing fancy but cleaned twice a day and 2 showers in the female and male Toilets with yes lovely hot water.

Enjoyed our stay and we would go back again.

Great site, clean, quiet (apart from the lambs, which were so cute we didn’t mind the noise), lovely surroundings.

Easy to find, near lots of walks.

Would revisit definitely.
