 You can also stay on the rally field when it is open - unlike the campsite, which for the good reason of two deep unfenced ponds is adults only, children are welcome, and when we stayed there was plenty of room for them to run around.
Mainly level and neatly mown, there is shade from the established hedgerows if you need it.
Price is £15 which gives access to the Elsan, drinking water and in theory the grey waste although you’d need a wastemaster.
The pub on site is friendly and at the end of half term was lively, with an (excellent) bbq replacing evening meals on the Saturday night.
There’s also a new motoring themed cafe and emporium which does superb breakfasts.
The canal towpath is great for a walk and there are footpaths from the adjacent reservoir.
Cyclists can access the Blue Lias Line greenway from the towpath too.
A great place for a weekend or a bit longer.

What a change. Stayed 3 nights on a hot weekend recently and found it to be quite different to how it used to be.
It seems that children are now allowed on this site even though the new owners assured everyone that it would remain adult only.
There seems to be a few seasonal caravans dotted around the site which have long grass growing around them. Tents now seem to also be allowed even though it is stated as caravan and motorhomes only. Pitches are often doubled up with friends units.
Ball games are played on the caravan site often by the children who shouldn't be there in the first place.
Owners frequently allow their dogs to run amock around the site and other campers pitches, I even saw one dog have a s##t in someone's awning. So come here and let your dogs do as they please despite the universal rule that dogs should be on a lead at all times.
Although the pub has become busier, it is to the detriment of the local area. The bikers who now frequent the pub on a regular basis are noisy and unsettling and their language would make a trucker blush.
It is a shame that these things have been allowed to happen and I for one will not be returning for weekends here again.

We arrived a bit early on Friday which wasn't a problem. We were shown to our selected pitches which were extremely generous in size, right next to the canal.
The toilets and showers were a bit of a walk but were clean, showers hot and never had to wait.
We are a few times in the pub which was delicious.

Easy to book and a friendly welcome.
A beautiful spacious grassy site next to the canal.
Clean and well-appointed facilities, lovely warm showers.
The pub does great food too.
Just watch the bridge over the canal when approaching from the north!

What a beautiful place. The grounds are full of flowers around the pub. We'll looked after.
Our pitch was huge over looking the lake and very private.
Will be returning very soon.
Food was lovely at the pub reasonably priced. But the drinks were a little pricey. A lot of people coming and going for food

Peaceful quiet lovely site,
Lovely pub with tables outside next to the canal and a great walk up to the old railway line,
Good facilities and loads of space on your pitch,
Will def be going back

Lovely site
Nice and peaceful and had a super pitch no. 11 right next to canal where we could see Barges going up and down
And also lovely setting of lakes with geese and ducks all around
And pub right on doorstep
Who could ask for anything more !

Peaceful pretty location by the canal & excellent Blue Lias pub.
Lots of wildfowl, ducks, swans, heron, unfortunately too many Canada geese & their droppings, like a minefield!
Good toilet/shower facilities, however no sinks for washing up.

Lovely setting close to Grand union Canal, behind a picturesque pub. However dogs not allowed inside pub and food is very basic pub grub.
Not the easiest site for Motorhomes as access to the single water tap blocked so containers needed for both clean and grey water.
Pitches are very spread out and you can pitch any way you want. This made the site peaceful and relaxed.
Fantastic food at the Boat along the canal, but you need to book.
