This was the only site we could find in the area at short notice, and won't stay here again. Access from the main road is fine, and it's near Kingsbridge, not far from Salcombe and the coast.

It is described as level, but isn't. At 16 per night, it's a bit cheaper than the other commercial sites around, and I can see why. As already stated, there are no rubbish bins! you either have to pay 1 for a big rubbish bag, or take your rubbish to the recycling facility at Torr Quarry, which is about a mile away on the Totnes road.

The facilities looked ok, but they (and the water and CWD) are too far away from the touring field. The owner is friendly, but asked for a large deposit and chased for money a little too much. No credit/debit cards accepted either, strange for a modern commercial site.

Seemed pretty good from the website ad. Yes, the shower block is lovely (new in '09), plenty of free hot water and kept very clean, though we were the only campers there at the time. Just one sink for washing up and no freezer for ice packs. We've been to lots of campsites and never been unable to freeze the icepacks, just took it for granted really.

Main reason for staying here was the easy 'within walking distance' of a very good fishing venue. Forget it! It's a good mile if not a mile and a half away! Coombe Water Fishery is a nice place to spend the day though.

To summarise - this campsite seemed to be aimed at touring/residential caravans and expect a long walk to the fishing venue.

You have to pay extra to dump your rubbish. No bins on site. Bit of a rough field for camping too, not terribly level and quite muddy.

Lastly, there were notices up in the shower block written by the owner, asking that anybody staying at the site should not shop at the local Post Office because the Police had been called out to deal with some trouble between the campsite owner and the proprietors of the Post Office. This is just too weird!
