Having just starting caravaning and have all ready toured the lakes and Devon, we have now visited this site on 3 occasions and it is got to be a our favourite. It's got just what you need to wind down after a hard week at work the site facilities are exceptional from the toilets to the Little shop that's got everything you need and  the wardens cannot do enough for you all you have got to do is sit back and relax.
Its spotlessly clean all hook ups are what some sites call superior hook ups but not Moss wood everybody gets the same treatment.the playground is ideal for the youngsters plenty of fields to play football fly kites. Try the little wood walk.
For fresh eggs they can be purchased from a local small holding try the quail eggs fantastic
Well signposted from the main road you cannot go wrong.

Visited the site during the bank holiday weekend. First impressions, the site is very picturesque very green and secluded. We were greeted by the warden who was extremely helpful and directed us to our pitch and explained where to find all the facilities.

We had pitch 18 which was directly opposite the childrens play area, bliss the kids (7yrs 3yrs) spent most of each day on the park playing with all the other kids from the statics and other tourers it was a really friendly atmosphere throughout the whole site.

The toilets were spotless and the showers hot enough to melt bone they were heavenly. We will be going back

Seeing as there are no recent reviews of this site, I thought I would share my recent experience of this site with any would be visitors. Moss wood is a lovely site, situated near Cockerham and a 15 minute drive to Lancaster, it is situated in a very scenic and quiet area. There is a security barrier at the entrance to the site, and the first impression you get is how green and pleasant everything looks. the pitches are all hardstanding and level, and each pitch has its own fresh water tap and waste drain. The toilet and shower blocks are spotlessly clean as are the dishwashing facilities. There is a nice play area to keep the kids happy aswell as a private field where they can play football, golf...etc... and also to walk the dogs. All in all a very nice site in a quite secluded location, we will be visiting again soon

Nice site, mostly flat pitchs, with own EHU, water supply and drainage. Helpfull warden, small shop, very clean and modern toilets. Microlite aerodrome nearby, sounded like a parade of mopeds going over head! not a problem tho. Cost us £14 for a Sat/Sunday night.

April 2004
Mosswood is about a mile along Grimbles Lane well away from the main road and not far from Jack Berry’s racing stable. A stroll to the nearest pub is fifty or sixty minutes away so its a good idea to take along push bikes. You could reach Glasson Dock by bike in about 20 minutes.
The site itself is spacious and well laid out costing £14 per night per caravan. The toilet block is clean and modern with hot showers included in the nightly fee. The block was accessible by key which needed a £10 returnable deposit. The site warden was very helpful and friendly. Newspapers were available from the site shop but had to be ordered the day before.
There were plenty of room for families with young children. The kids had nearby fields available in which they could run and play which meant that it was still peaceful around the pitches.
For a quiet relaxing weekend it is the ideal site. If you want amenities within walking distance choose somewhere else.
