This was quite a plain ordinary site and certainly not worth the premium price. Toilet blocks nice and clean. Lovely lake for those who like fishing. Nice playground. But, it's in the middle of nowhere so nothing much to do around although it is good for getting to places like Chessington. The bins are at reception which is quite a long walk so car needed to empty bin bags.
The biggest problem though was our neighbour who is on a seasonal pitch. We strongly advise that you ask not to be put on pitch 31. We parked our car on our pitch and when our neighbour returned he parked on our pitch and pulled right up to our car so we couldn't get out. There was no intention to discuss why he was parking there at all - he just did it. I challenged him politely and he whittled on about how long he had been a member and how he had been parking there since March. This was despite him having a lot of space on his pitch. As he has a seasonal pitch, the wardens didn't really want to do much about this and so we had to put up with his unsightly 4x4 on our grass at the front of our caravan for the whole stay.

A great place to stay with very helpful and friendly staff. Facilities are what you would expect. Clean and tidy and well maintained. The games room is a little dated and needs some TLC. The wife and I enjoyed a couple of games of darts and pool. The railway station is a bit of a walk (1 mile) for anyone with mobility issues. Shops are the same. Very peaceful setting if you are just looking to relax.

This is our 2nd review of this site. This year we have camped 3 times. It is very pleasant clean and well looked after. Horsley village has some shops and restaurants but no pub. The nearest to the site is about 2 miles away. The lake has fishing and lots of wild life. There is a mixture of grass, hard standing and electric pitches. This year there are 2 new glamping pitches. There are 2 toilet blocks. The camp site was fully booked whilst we were there but queues were minimal. Very good experience. Our only gripe -- No recycling!.

Stayed here for a week with our grandson during the school holidays. Access to this site is down a narrow lane so observing the arrival and departure times is a must. Horsley is very close to the M25 and A3, so it is supprising how little road noise there is. Peace is broken however by aircraft noise, especially in the evening during our stay.
There is a real problem on this site with dog fouling, one of our neighbours was moved to their pitch because their original pitch was covered in the stuff. Our grandson slipped and got dogs mess all over his clothes not nice, or healthy, and when my wife complained it was met with indifference at best. In fact although one or two of the wardens were cheerful and friendly, the opposite is true for some of them.
The facilities on site are dated but clean and functional with ample hot water and none of those annoying push button showers. The bins are by reception so a good walk with your rubbish should be expected, strange they don't have bins near where you actually camp.
The lake is very pretty and full of hard fighting carp, plus other spieces including some very large Rudd. We chose this site so our grandson could have his first time at fishing. He caught 9 carp on his first ever session - great !
There are no pubs or restaurants within walking distance, but many within a very short drive.
Thorpe Park, Legoland etc are on your doorstep, as is Brooklands so plenty to do nearby.
Exit of this site is made with a very tight left turn and then directly through a narrow gate so take care especially with larger units.
Another thing to note is the price during the high season. Its very high for what is certainly not a premium site.
Also the pitches, although level and in good condition, are very close together.
Would we stay here again ? No

This was one of our favourite sites, but it has changed since our last visit. It didn't have the usual holiday feel, but it appeared to have a number of single people using the site as a base for commuting. This site is geared towards the caravans and motor homes as most of the club sites are now. We were kept up late on three consecutive nights with a certain group of caravanners who had private parties with their visitors who stayed till gone midnight. This unfortunately ruined our stay. The site otherwise is lovely and handy for London and local area, but there seems to be a lack of friendliness despite as being known as the friendly club.

Lovely and picturesque site with plenty of pitches. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The only 2 negatives are that the main field areas do not have refuse bins so campers have a long trek with weighty rubbish bags, to ditch their rubbish next to Reception, which is ridiculous. Also the nearest shower block in the next field by the playing area, only had 3 showers for each the men and women; resulting in long queues. From the amount of campers pitched in this area, this is really inadequate, so please, please Horsley Site, build some more facilities!
All in all a great weekend and once the site puts right the above it would most definitely receive 10 out of 10 reviews.

We spent 3 nights at this site, chosen for its proximity to London. The nearest railway station is 1 mile away in West Horsley, with free car parking on the Saturday we were there, it took 50 minutes to reach Waterloo.
We received a warm welcome on arrival at this beautiful and peaceful site. The facilities were excellent and very clean. We took an evening walk on nearby paths, through woodland and around fields, ending up watching the sunset across the site's fishing lake near the site entrance. We will definitely be back when we want to sightsee again in London, and next time we'll bring a couple of grandchildren too as I think they would love it.

Lovely pretty site, around a fishing lake. There was a lovely woodland walk. We went for a weekend, having been held up on the motorway, the staff phoned us to find out if we were alright. When we arrived, we were personally taken to our pitch, shown where all the facilities were.
Toilets/ showers were very clean. We thought it was a very quiet site at first when we settled down at night, but unfortunately we were soon to be disturbed by approaching air traffic to Gatwick. Lovely area to be staying with some great villages nearby.

We stayed at this site as the site we intended to stay at was fully booked and we we going to visit legoland. Having checked the reviews I was a bit unsure what to expect and had I any other choice based on the reviews I would not have stayed however I am glad I did. The site is picturesque, with a lovely lake with ducks and fish in the initial field and a few other fields off of the main field. Previous reviewers have said that the facilities were dated and whilst I can say that they are not modern and sparkling they were not tatty, kept immaculately clean and everything worked as you would hope it would. The staff were pleasant and helpful and overall we found this to be a lovely well run site with a relaxed feel. There is a little village just a mile up the road with all you would need - a convenience store, a newsagent, a cashpoint, an off licence, a bakers, butchers, Indian & Chinese takeaway and fish and chips, coffee shop, couple charity shops. There is a recreation hall on site where you can play table tennis, darts. I would definitely recommend this site.

Friendly greeting and was show to pitch.
Very beautiful setting. Only 3 showers, but was not a problem despite being! very busy and large sight.
Child friendly with a nice play area.
Lovely lake where you can fish and watch the ducks. Also on Wednesday the chip van came on sight. Very nice.
Close to brooklands museum, which was a great day out.
If I had one fault, it would be that only one rubbish area on site, and not recycle, many campers were walking about with rubbish
Would come back again.

Just returned from a 2 night break at Horsley. Great site, clean and friendly as you expect from a c& c site. Pretty lake for fishing, decent play area and a recreation hut for wet days. Mixture of pitches, some around lake, most divided into 3 sheltered fields. Lots of trees, hedges and birds. One rabbit tried to visit our awning. Good dog walk through woods and lanes to local pub, 1. 5 miles away. Easy access to Guildford, Windsor, London and South coast. Will be back.

We had a fantastic week here.
We visited Wisley, Polesden Lacey and Spectrum leisure pool in Guildford as well as enjoying some of the local walks nearby. We especially loved Brooklands Museum and would recommend a visit there to anyone. My children loved looking at the vintage cars and planes as well as their 'flight' on Concorde. They run a special programme during school holidays there and although it was a little damp and they cancelled it, we will return to ride in the vintage cars up the racing banks another time. The staff and volunteers there are also amazing and so informative.
The campsite was clean and well run although we did not get a lot of sun as our pitch was partly under the trees. My children loved scooting around the paths and around the lake which looked idyllic. Some of the pitches are around the lake although we were in a different field. Some of the non-electric pitches are under a lot of trees.
There is a really good Budgens down the road and my husband used the local rail service to get to work a couple of times without a problem.
Facilities were clean and the other campers did not bother us at all as the pitches seemed well spread out.
A great base for relaxing and for getting out. I am sure we will return.

Found the site easily, on arrival staff were friendly and the site presents itself very well, appears clean and the large lake is a nice central focal point. Check in was simple and the assistant was full of information. We only stayed here for 2 nights and although the weather was wet and windy I am keen to return, I would imagine the site is fantastic on a hot sunny day. Showers and toilet all ok, have come across more modern but perfectly usable and clean. The only thing to remember here is that the reception doesn't really sell anything and if its wet the dog walk (which looks good) isn't really usable unless you have wellies. Kids play area is good and has a fence and gate surround which keeps little ones safe. I Look forward to returning to this one!

We stayed at this campsite from the 16/8 for a few days. We were sited near the play area for our 5 year old daughter. The play area was big enough for our daughter to enjoy. The toilet/shower facilities were clean throughout our stay but they could do with a little upgrade as looking a bit tired. Only once did we have to wait for the shower. The reception does sell a few provisions but there is an excellent Budgens down the road. The lake at the campsite was lovely and ideal if you want to do some fishing.
We had a dinner at The Sovereigns in Woking which is an Ember Inn. Parking is around the back which you get the car parking fee refunded. Lovely meal, big portions and friendly atmosphere. It has various deals on throughout week. Also went to Polesden Lacey (National Trust). Lovely house and gardens. Nearest chip shop to campsite is in Send Road, Send called Ocean City. It was ok.
The site itself is down the end of a narrow lane and at first you might think you have gone the wrong way as it states on a sign near the entrance Private Lane but keep going and the campsite is at the very end. Also the brown campsite sign is literally right on the entrance.

This is a beautiful site, surrounding a tranquil lake with fishing available.
We stayed over a weekend, it was quite busy even for a large site. The wardens were extremely helpful and polite, the facilities were clean and adequate and the children's play area was nice and safe. Electric was available at most if not all pitches.
Access into the site is via a narrow road and exiting with a caravan in tow requires careful manoeuvring.
I would definitely go here again and take my fishing equipment next time.
