To begin, arrived to a warm welcome waited five mins then shown to our pitch which had fantastic views across the bay to Torquay or Brixham and explained where all the amenities were, done by a very nice guy, touring pitches were all level(ish) but if your in a tent definitely not so, showers while clean with them horrible push button, work for 4 seconds then go off type and about 5 feet high so if your tall your have to duck to wash your hair, and whose idea it was to put the toilet roll holder behind you. I was not born in a circus? swimming pool was great with a large outdoor pool and a small indoor, both heated and was clean and well maintained, shame people arrive at 9am and reserve sun beds only to return at lunchtime, site needs to put a stop to this, oh and a snack bar with ice creams to die for, shop on site was well above average and not overpriced at all. The clubhouse was large with a good variety of beers and again not overpriced, the entertainment was not bad, same as your get at these sort of sites but a couple of the entertainment guys were in there late 60s and think its definitely time to hang up there hats as this did show, rather than say this is good, that is good, I was just trying to too give people a true insight into the site, to sum up a good clean above average site right in the middle of a great part of the country with Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth all on doorstep a good honest 7-10.
What an easy place to find on a goo main road and also then stunning views where you pitch.
Excellent toilets and showers plus a open family bath room.
Although it was low season the entertainment was good and varied nice food and good beer.
The only gripe was the cleanliness in the changing rooms of the pools. The attendants seemed to only stand around chatting when the floors and showers were filthy.
We have just returned from 3 days at this site. I simply cannot fault it. It made up for the awful previous 5 days at Woolacombe Bay.
The customer service was excellent as were the facilities. The outdoor pool has a main pool and toddler pool, both of which were warm enough to swim in in September. Everything was clean and well cared for, although the pitches were getting a little bare after the previous rain.
Unlike the previous reviewer, I found there to help plenty of space for the kids to play.
There is plenty to do in the area. I hate to admit that we also managed to get a takeaway curry delivered to the site (someone else had a pizza delivered to their tent!).
We did not experience the entertainment but it sounded like the usual type of holiday park thing.
The shop was well stocked, even with camping spares, and reasonably priced.
The one thing I would say is that the children's playground is in need of refurbishment. However, there is a good range of equipment for all ages.
We visited this camp site on a very wet week in August! On arrival we were greeted very well and escorted to our pitch. The pitch was plenty big enough and the views across the bay were lovely especially at night. We set up in the heavy rain (which is new to me!) and my only criticism is that the site is made up of clay top soil which was left in a swamp like condition following the previous guests. The colour of the mud does stain very easily so be warned. However during the week the sun appeared occasionally and we had a wonderful week.
As for the camp site itself - the staff there were absolutely lovely. The shop was well stocked and was open at very convenient hours. The bars were very good especially the upstairs area - most nights the kids were all downstairs and the viewing area was perfect - you could see what was going on but it was nice and quiet - this was perfect for me! The shower blocks were very clean always and we never had to queue for a shower. There were also four family rooms consisting of either a toilet and a bath or a toilet and a shower - just perfect if you prefer a bit of privacy.
There is a bus service operating all day from the camp site to Paignton which was an excellent service. We love walking but the steep climb back to the camp site can be a bit much especially in 'horizontal' rain! On wet days the train from Paignton to Exeter was only £12 return for two adults and Exeter is lovely.
The surrounding areas are beautiful - even in the rain. I would especially recommend Brixham.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this site and would gladly go back next year. The sea gulls were not an issue as reported and we had an absolutely lovely time despite the weather!
Just back from a 10 night stay in peak season. This was our first visit to Beverley park. We were in our Outwell montana 4 with extension and there was myself, husband and two boys aged 13 months and 4 1/2 years.
Check in at this site is at 12pm however we did see people sited earlier if their pitch was free. Departures are by 10am so its worth chancing it if you turn up early as they are very accommodating.
On arrival there are specific parking places to park up which can take caravans and trailers in which to wait whilst you check in at reception. You are then personally escorted to your pitch. The staff gave us a very warm welcome and gave us details of where our nearest amenities were.
The sad thing was our pitch was clay. There was pretty much no grass left on our pitch and it was bright orange clay which indeed did make a mess of the ground sheet! As it was nearing the end of the summer season and the terrible wet weather we have had this year plus many week long campers I guess there's not much that could have been done about this, most pitches were in the same condition. There are various sizes of pitch so do be sure to give the correct details of your tent size when booking. Our pitch gave us room for the tent, extension car and trailer but no other space between us and the road.
The site seems lacking in open spaces for children to play near to the tent but there is apparently a recreation ground outside the site but owned by them and a play park on site. As these were very far from our pitch I did feel our 4 year old missed out a bit on running around.
This site has stunning views of torbay. So beautiful waking to see the sea each morning.
The toilet block was always clean, has electrical sockets for straighteners etc. Supplied quite good hairdryers. 4 showers in the ladies but never much of a queue unless peak time. Block also houses good washing up facilities with provided drainers (handy) and the elsan point. There is also another block housing the laundry (3 or £4 a wash, 50p soap powder and 50p 10 mins for dryer. Free irons and ironing boards, tv to watch whilst waiting never really too busy open 9am-9pm) Also here are the family bathrooms which are the best I have come across and obviously quite new. 2 rooms with shower (large) toilet and sink and 2 rooms with bath sink and toilet. These were wonderful for my family. We never had to wait and it meant the boys could get a bath. There were no fees for this. They were also spotless on each of our visits. Very impressed!
The site has 2 outdoor pools (1 a toddler pool) with lifeguards on site. Lovely and warm in the water and excellent for children. Also an indoor leisure facility with pool, spa, steam and gym but we didn't use these. The Galley/ Gallery? offer well priced take away food, nice pizza and upstairs you can enjoy a lovely meal with views of the bay.
Evening venue has plenty of seats, opens at 7pm and kids entertainment starts at 7.30. The entertainments team have obviously been on site for sometime and my little boy really took a shine to them and enjoyed the dancing and games. Sandys shack offers a nice environment (similar to a preschool set up looks wise) and our children loved to play here and take part in craft activities which were around £3. It was open 10-12am then 7pm until around 10pm with access form the main evening venue. We only stayed for the children's entertainment so I can not comment on the adult shows etc.
The site has a good soft play area suitable for children up to the age of around 6 years. This was great to enable our todder to have a crawl or toddler around safely. There is crazy golf around £1. 50 and an arcade. The site had a real family feel about it. It was large but didn't feel like it. It just had a superb ambiance. We really liked it.
Like I say the only downside was lack of grass on our pitch and no open spaces around the pitches to play for our boys. We really enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave.
We would certainly come back. Its in a nice central area with loads to do nearby. We enjoyed trips to paignton, kingswear, Dartmouth, Totnes, Newquay. We had days out at paignton Zoo, a steam train and boat ride, a trip to Woodlands theme park which is amazing if you have children over 110cm plus lots fo other stuff.
There is a sainsburys just down the road and a new Asda a little bit futher. Local shop and chip shop and we likes Jades palace chinese take away down the bottom of the hill. Great beaches nearby too. Try this place if you have a young family I do not think you will be disappointed!
Stayed here for eight nights in early July. The weather wasn't the best with some very heavy rain and strong winds.
Bearing this in mind, Beverley was the place to be. The pitch we used was on concrete and was perfectly level. Despite the weather the grass beside the pitch where we parked remained firm, and any of the outfits and tents which were on grass did not seem to have any problems.
The site has two excellent pools, one outdoor, one indoor. The outdoor pool has a nice area set out with sun loungers but sadly we didn't have the weather for that.
One of the main attractions for us when booking was that there was entertainment each evening, with a bar and restaurant on site. We used the restaurant once and it was good quality bar food and keenly priced. The entertainment was of a high standard and our kids loved it.
Toilets, showers etc were clean and of a high standard. The bins and chemical toilet disposal were close at hand and everything generally had a feeling of being well run.
The shop on site was well stocked and had a hot counter with pasties and the like.
The site is close to the centre of Paignton and only a few minutes from Torquay. It is set in a quiet residential area.
All in all, a very well run site with great facilities, they just need to get the weather sorted!
What a fantastic site! Great welcome at reception and you are escorted to your pitch and the service at reception was always very friendly, professional and helpful.
Site is fantastic value for money and they have really tried to do everything to make your holiday good with facilities like 2 outdoor swimming pools, a small indoor pool with jacuzzi and steam room, a small gym which is £2. 50 per visit or £10 for a weekly pass.
They also had tennis courts, crazy golf, a takeaway, games room, cabaret lounge and upper deck bar with huge sun terrace overlooking the bay!Pitches had lots of room and were well spaced out and was a shining example of what a caravan park should be.
As soon as we got there we immediately booked to go again in September and people who have booked before get a 5% discount off your next holiday.
They also have a bus stop with takes you into Paignton on the site, what more can you say!
Just enjoyed a 5 night stay at Beverley park over the long bank holiday weekend and although the weather was true to form it didn't spoil things.
Upon arrival we were shown to our pitch, all the pitches are allocated prior to arrival which may not suit everyone as some people prefer to be nearer the toilet's or playground.
The field we were on had great views over the bay but the majority of the grass pitches are on a slope.
The toilets were very clean and the showers were great, nice and warm.
The entertainment was great and the kids loved the evening show's and playing in the pools and soft play area.
Obviously if you eat in the restaurant or cafe or buy things in the on-site shop you will pay more than just nipping to the shops, pubs or restaurants near by.
We found the site to be a great base for exploring the local area and I'm sure we will visit again.
Absolutely Great! Had 2 perfect nights away in our brand new tent. We are a couple who are quite new to the whole camping scene, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The site is beautiful and well laid out, great access to it from main roads, no narrow lanes. It seems to be geared more around static caravans, but the touring facilities were great and we were made to feel very welcome.
We were personally showed to our pitch and the gentleman gave us a brief run-down on park facilities and where our nearest toilets and showers were.
From start to finish the park staff were superb, super friendly and very patient. The staff in the shop are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, couldn’t do enough for us. The shop stocks just about everything we could think of, although not as cheap as supermarkets, but not extortionate and incredibly handy if you forgot something or fancied some sausages or a chilled bottle of wine! Even have blankets which we had to buy as it got a bit chilly in the night.
Pitches were well maintained and offered plenty of room, and were well spaced out. No problem with parking our car alongside the tent. Incredible views from field 2, pitch 153. Field does slope, so may not suit everyone, but we had no issues. Just need to bear it in mind when deciding how to pitch.
The facilities close to our field were very clean, plenty of toilets, not many showers, from memory I believe there are 4 but we never had to queue. The showers and the 2 hair-dryers were free. There was also a separate bath, which appeared to be free each time we visited the facility so no problems with availability. There were plenty of washing up sinks and were always cleaned to a high standard.
This site has the best laundry facilities we have come across; you can even watch TV while you wait for your washing if you like. Iron and ironing board all on hand as well, never had to wait to use these.
The outside pool looked very inviting, although not tested. Lots of loungers available as well. The indoor pool and leisure complex looked great but again we did not personally test.
The entertainment suite was large and airy, plenty of seating and a very well stocked bar. Although as you would expect on a campsite it was a bit on the pricey side. The “adult” entertainment didn’t kick off until at least 21:30/21:45pm most evenings, but seemed of reasonable quality. Not the most organised entertainment team in the world, but full of fun and very friendly and approachable. The site benefits from a great take away and restaurant, food looked very tasty but not sampled. It also has some vending machines for cans of pop and chocolate, although a bit pricey.
There is good sized tennis court, a mini crazy golf area and even an outdoor table tennis table (bats and balls available for purchase in shop). Obviously more of a family orientated park, but as a couple it was a great base for us to explore the areas on Torquay and Paignton and we felt right at home.
Will be going back as soon as possible, probably our favourite site to date.
Just got back from a 5 night stay at this site, what a great time we had toilet facilities are spot on radio two playing in there 24/7 very nice indeed also they are very clean and I must say the best ive been to.
Outdoor pool looked fab but it was a bit cold to use so we used the indoor pool and health centre all included in the price again could not fault.
The bar looked very nice indeed with sky sports etc but a tad pricey for me to use.
The shop was well stocked (best camp shop ive been to) and ok in price.
Camping area nice and big plenty of room for big tents mine is 7 metre by 4 9 man tent had just enough room for a car has well, please take rock pegs has the ground is full of buried rocks and its so hard in some places to get pegs in the ground.
Seagulls they know you are new to the site and are not daft, they will take every bit of food that you are cooking or that you have left out on your table so beware and do not feed them.
Area there is plenty to do and all the information can be found in the reception.
Bad points about the site, crazy golf you had to pay for this but you get the health centre and swimming free cannot work that out, it would be better to leave a deposit for the clubs and balls and when returned get the deposit back.
Toilet rolls we have all done it you pull one sheet off and have to go turning the roller in the machine for ages to try and find the end again so you can pull some more roll off that's what its like in the toilets its a pain.
Its a great site and well worth the money £84. 00 for 5 nights with ehu that's with a discount of £5. 00 for best of british card holders.
We have just returned from this campsite, and cant express how nice we found it! I admit the weather probably helped our decision but we have all agree to go there again.
The showers and toilets are the cleanest we have experienced and the fact the bathrooms are there for families made it a winner in our book.
Our pitch was fairly flat but there were others which were more of an recline, but the views I feel would make up for this.
The staff are especially helpful and love to help and talk to the kids, which I found is a different feel to a few weve visited!
The pools were very clean and I always saw a cleaner somewhere on the site during the day.
Shop was very well stacked and reasonably priced.
We took a trip to the sea front and the helpfulness of people seems to be a general thing in paignton, helpful doesn't cover it!
The only 2 down points we found for the site was the clay/mud (trying to clean the ground sheet was a nightmare) and the seagulls, both are natural things that cant be helped!
We have just returned from a weeks stay with my husband and 5 children and my in laws. On arrival we were escorted to our pitch first impressions site was clean good views.
The facilities are great good entertainment with a soda bar so my kids could go and buy their own drinks, reasonably priced takeaway outlet and shop. The indoor pool was small and cold and only baby changing facility was in one of the two changing cubicles none in the outdoor changing rooms either so had to get him dressed on a sun lounger by the outdoor pool. Outdoor pool is heated hence majority of guests were using it. There are several free family bathrooms which were clean and was great to be able to bath my 2 year old son. There is a table tennis court on site but always busy so never got to use it, a good tennis court on site and a 11 hole crazy golf which my kids enjoyed. If wanting to eat out Richies diner is great on the Totness road we just fell upon it by chance, it is a traditional American diner with a jukebox, food portions great for price. My only negative for this site is it was noisy which was not good when camping with children, I had people coming back from the clubhouse shouting etc up until 12. 30 am, sat outside talking loudly till the early hours. Also you get the noise from the road which was quite busy. I enjoyed my stay but not sure I would return due to this.
Just returned after a lovely week at Beverley. My only comment would be more showers facilities are needed as 4 wasn't enough for 2 large rent fields.
The out side swimming pool was lovely even if full all the time. As everyone else has said the shop is very reasonable priced.
The beach at goodrington sands is excellent and the waterpark is a great way to spend and afternoon and there is a lovely brewers fair restaurant to sit and watch the sunset go down.
Babbacombe model villages is a must to see especially if you can return at night for the illuminations.
Good clean site with plenty of space overlooking the sea. Shower blocks and toilets were very clean and tidy.
The indoor pool was good but small. Also this area consisted of a sauna, steam room and gym. The outdoor pool was bigger and more used. The shop was full but as you would expect a little pricey but convenient.
The arcade again was small, could do with enlarging this for the amount of people on site.
The tent pitch was really suited for a caravan as it was under a tree and the tree roots made it virtually impossible to get the tent pegs into the ground without bending them and the ground was soil not grassed.
Few other bits were that you have to pay for the wi-fi and also nowhere to refreeze your ice packs, however, you can loan some from the shop for a cost of coarse.
Apart from these little moans overall a good clean site and would return soon.
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Beverley Park in our tent. There was myself, my husband, our two young daughters and my mum. I wanted to write a review to let everybody know what a lovely site this is.
The site is immaculate, the staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are modern, clean and well looked after.
The location of the park is also great, I highly recommend a trip to Goodrington Sands, which is just at the bottom of the hill, this beach is sandy and pebbley, plenty of rockpools and the steam train passes just above the beach.
We were only due to stay at the site for 4 nights and extended our stay, we just wish we were able to stay for longer!
We will definitely be returning!
