This was a great holiday, the site was superb with everything we needed on it from a well stocked shop, great outdoor pool (loved the swimming gala on a wednesday, great fun for the kids and adults), a relaxing indoor pool, clubhouse (some great nights especially Rod Stewart lookalike.) kids loved the arcade and adventure playarea, the roads on the site were great for the kids riding there bikes around.Out and about was brilliant, plenty of great beaches(loved Blackpool Sands) the train ride from Paignton to Dartmouth was a great day out.Cockington was a place truly well worth a visit. The only problem we had with the site was the Takeaway food this was very poor. But overall the holiday was great and the weather was fantastic in the English Riviera. WELL RECOMMENDED.
After a terrible 4 days in Weymouth we very nearly went home rather than continue our journey to here. Well, we were so pleased we didn't. I am no lover of large commercial site but this is the best site I've ever been to. Not cheap for non serviced pitch but blimey do you get value for money. The facilities are 1st class. Everything seems new. The shower blocks are spotlessly clean and very modern. Music and everything! One very small criticism is the temp. Of the showers. My kids could not have a shower as they were too hot. Mind you they went swimming most days so it wasn't too much of a problem. Lovely restaurant with a fairly good choice of good honest grub. Not just burgers.Thank goodness. We'd definitely go back if we were going back to Devon. A lovely site
Visited this site for the first time expecting quite a lot for the money -around £27.50 per night with ehu. The pitch was roomy and we were on a level pitch in Field 3. Unfortunately this backed onto the road and was quite noisy even with earplugs! Site was regularly cleaned and inspected, and when we arrived early at 9.30am, we were shown to our pitch straight away, although we were told that it may not be available until 12.00pm.
Found the toilet blocks clean but showers went hot and cold constantly, and with push-button only lasting a max of 30 seconds was difficult to wash and keep water running. Piped music was a nice touch. We found that on days when weather was poor, there was little to do inside. The Clubhouse was nice but you had to get there early if you wanted a seat and entertainment finished promptly at 11pm, which on occasions appeared too early.
Good kids room for children to draw and play which was free of charge from 7 - 10pm.
Great cafe/take away and on site shop is very reasonably priced and it sold everything including hot croissants in the morning which is a must!
Excellent views of the bay and is ideally situated for visiting other areas, but you will need a car to get to the beach as it is not in walking distance and is very hilly. Although I believe a bus is accessible from the site.
May return, however you do have to book early to guarantee a pitch for a week or more. We booked last August for this year!
Just back from yet another fantastic week at this faultless site. We have been going there for the last 15 years and the last two years with our caravan. The site is clean and well maintained and the staff are very helpful. The evening entertainment, 'Jubilee' are great and make your holiday a memorable experience. Plenty to do for the children, whatever their ages. If you want to go during July and August, you need to book at least 12 months in advance, that's how popular it is. Cannot praise this site enough! The views are breath taking and you are only a short drive from Paignton, Brixham and Torquay. If you are going for a weeks holiday, go to the tourist information centre and buy a weekly parking ticket for £25, and you can park on a Torbay council car park without the hassle of finding change! Fab site, you will not be disappointed.
This was our 1st time to this site and it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. The pitch we got wasn't brilliant as it was right next to the recycling area and the refuse bins which was a bit of a nuisance sometimes with the clinking of the bottles early morning and the seagulls hanging round. The weather was great so we spent quite a few days around the outdoor pool which was very well maintained and a good size. The playarea was great for the kids as it was right next to our pitch. The shop was well stocked and not too pricey. The Nightclub was great of a night and really entertained the kids, not too sure about the resident band Jubilee not my cup of tea! Only 1 downfall with the site was the catering side of it i.e. The takeaway and restaraunt was a very poor standard of food served. But out and About across the English Riviera was outstanding.
We spent New Year at this site watching the fireworks over paignton and torquay brilliant. The site is clean, well laid out, they provide recycling bins for bottles and plastic etc. The toilets were beautiful with piped music free hot showers and hand dryers which also double as hairdryers. There is a substantial washing up area if needed which has good lighting. The site is well positioned for easy access to paignton and torquay and also Dartmouth and Brixham. I imagine with such good facilities it can get quite busy at school holiday times, but this would not be an issue as the touring pitches are well spaced. Lovely site we will return.
I have always tried to avoid commercial campsites but when we had been to around 20 diffrent campsites which were all full we had no choice but to pitch at Beverley Park.
What can I say? I really had a fantastic time. The site is immaculate, with lovely indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Fantastic views accross torbay. The radio in the toilets was a nice touch. Altogether a lovely campsite and I will return there I'm sure.
Have been going to Beverley Park for over 30 years and never tire of it. Spectacular views across Torbay which is wonderfully lit at night, the site has a great outdoor pool and also has a small indoor pool, for those days when the weather is not too good. The shop is reasonably priced and well stocked. You can also put your hand to Crazy Golf, tennis or indoor amusements such as pool. There is a takeaway and a garden restaurant which serves reasonably priced family meals. The main attribute to this site is the Entertainment Team (Jubilee), who work tirelessly all season to provide all round on-site entertainment ranging from swimming galas, rambling, quizzes not to mention the fabulous sounds they produce to dance the night away.
July 2004 Been here 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998. Excellent facilities, good touring pitches, clean toilets, showers, super entertainment team, club, bar meals, take-away, large outdoor pool + childrens pool, indoor pool, crazy golf, tennis, play park.
We have found it an excellent base and have looked at many a touring park while weve been staying at Beverley park but we have been spoilt by this brilliant touring park, yes, you do get noise while the club comes out, but it soon goes quiet. And for security they have security on the gate at night. Already booked for next year.
August 2004 We went just after the Bank holiday, from Tuesday 31st August for a couple of days only. From a tenter's point of view we found that this site, although good, was very expensive at £19.50 per night for a non serviced pitch. We did not want EHU, but wished we had asked for a pitch with EHU as all other pitches for tents appeared to be on slopes which made sleeping uncomfortable. We ended up coming home a day early as we couldn't get comfortable. Non serviced pitches should be cheaper or should at least be terraced so that they are level for that price. Also good shower blocks but very few showers in them. A good site for caravanners though.
August 2004 Well we finally got in but were placed at the back of the site in a small field below the tennis courts.
A) there needs a sign installing saying 'no ball games' as we had a lot of youths kicking the ball into the tent off the wall!
B) The bar needs to stay open later than 11pm! Everything shuts then, entertainment included - for the height of summer found this strange!
C) They kick you off by 10am...its too early!
D) The entertainment is aimed mainly at kids. I believe that after 9pm it should be for grown ups, as not everyone went with kids and each night it just got more monotonous!
Saying that the showers, facilities, shop etc were all very good. If you have kids its ideal as the whole park seems to be focused on kids. The entertainers are very hard working and didn't seem to stop. There are 2 big pools, a takeaway, games room (for kids!), a restaurent and bar, and the big entertainment room with bar. Drinks very reasonable.
All in all we enjoyed it but not sure I'd go there again unless we took the kids. Paul
July 2004 Picked this campsite because of the reviews on your site and we were not disappointed. The views from the site were breathtaking right across Torbay. We had a good sized pitch. The site was immaculate with beautiful flowers. It was very modern - we have been to some sites where the facilities have been very run down and not very clean.
The beach at Goodrington Sands is a 20 minute walk down the hill but we found a short cut through the road by the holiday lodges which made it quicker. The Paignton to Dartmouth steam railway runs along by the beach and everyone waves to the passengers as it travel backwards and forwards.
The outdoor pool was lovely and has a cafe which serves good sandwiches, paninis and coffee etc.We thought the indoor pool was small but didnt use it as the weather was so good, but there is a leisure centre with pool a short drive away.We ate in the garden bar a couple of times but get there early as it gets busy and you could have a long wait for food.
The entertainment was excellent two of the entertainers have been there for 20 years. The site is a good base for the area and there is plenty to see and do.We particularly liked Brixham.
July 2004 What can I say, we stumbled on this site quite by accident and I can say I'm glad I did. Stunning views across Torbay, excellent grounds with lots of flowers and coloured lights in the ground and water features, even the crazy golf is lit up at night.
Well set out and organised, the shower blocks were immaculate, piping hot water and plenty of it. Washing up facilities excellent. All staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Every member of the family was catered for including in the family room on a night. Loads of places to see and lots to do in 1 of the nicest places in Britain.
July 2004 Excellent site - but small criticisms; The pitches are too close together. It gets noisy if you're camping and have little ones who want to sleep before 10pm. Not enough showers, and be aware its a good mile walk on a hill to the beach. Indoor pool far too small. On the plus side- Excellent facilities- Outdoor pool, Cafe, Shop (not too expensive), good club house, Lovely views, Close to Paignton and Torquay, both worth a visit. Whilst here visit 'The Woodlands' excellent day out, and the Openview leisure centre at Goodrington beach- It seems expensive but you can go in and out all day and the rides are excellent. The Entertainments team on site are excellent and can't do enough for you. If Haven/Pontins etc are too rough try here. 9 out of 10.
June 2003 This is by far the nicest site we have ever been to. You are actually taken to your pitch on arrival. The veiws are stunning and the facilities excellent. They even play local radio in the shower blocks, it makes a really nice atmosphere. Even the cleaners are lovely. It has all sorts of pitches: Hard surface - grass, and considering the site is not to big the facilities are plentifull. Indoor and outdoor pools, clubs restaurants or a chippy if you prefer. A very friendly well stocked shop. We found a stunning beach named GOODRINGTON SANDS close by. You must visit it, there is a steam train running along side it takes your breath away. There is a water park and lots of water activities for hire. We couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were. Back to the park- I have to mention how pretty it is, flowers everywhere and it has a wonderfull nature walk where you could have a picnic with the most breathtaking veiws. The ONLY thing i could find to complain about is that the water has an after taste, i just bought a big and very reasonably priced bottle of spring water from the shop. Problem solved. We are definately going back here and with all of my family next time.
