June 2005 Located at Doussard, at the Southern end of the Lac d'Annecy. We stayed here for 11 nights, and liked it. The site was beautifully kept and the toilet block was clean and well maintained.
The site was busy in early June, and could well be crowded in July/ August.
The owners speak English, and could not be more helpful. The shop is quite limited, but there are supermarkets in the area. The site provides take out meals up to 8pm in the evening. The swimming pool was clean.
The site is set back from the lakeside, with minor road access to the Annecy - Albertville Road. Used by a mix of nationalities, including quite a number of British, as the site is listed in the C&CC 'Carefree' brochure, and also used by Eurocamp.
The mountains around the site are not the highest in the Alps. Although the views are very fine around the lake, which has a boat service to Annecy running on it (limited in low season), the site is some way from the spectacular Mont Blanc Range which overlooks the Chamonix Valley.
One word of warning. The traffic in Annecy itself is very heavy, and there seems no way of avoiding the town if approaching from the north west. Just follow the signs to Albertville, be patient, and keep your nerve!
