Just back from four nights at church house farm campsite, three days of lovely sunshine sandwiched between storms.
The site is a small farm site; there were around 6-8 plot's in use on average during our stay. There are only two combined shower/toilet units and a toilet which seemed a little low but we didn't have to queue once. The showers and toilet were kept very clean all day and showers were good.
There is a room for Washing up with a fridge freezer, plug sockets for hair dryer, phone charging, etc. Also here were a selection of novels and local info and walking routes all very useful.
The pitches are nice and flat and drained well after the heavy downpours we witnessed. Campsite is peaceful m main road is far enough away not to be an issue and train line is a bit noisy but infrequent.
There is a well stocked shop at garage about 10 minute walk or minute drive and a cafe too (we did not go here comment on service)
There aren't any pubs within walking distance but buses seemed regular to nearby towns.
The local town's were nice but not hugely exciting. I would come back to the area but with my bike and walking boots to enjoy the beautiful countryside especially the exceptionally elan valley.
In short nice quiet friendly site to relax ir base yourselves for some epic walks in beautiful scenery.

Excellent site. The owners very friendly and helpful, toilet block and other facilities, all spotless. We were there 4 nights taking in Monday and Tuesday of The Royal Welsh Show. They coped extremely well with all the extra influx of adults and children. Beautiful countryside and a good base for visiting the surrounding area and the Elan Valley Dams. Would certainly use the site again. Jean/John not so young caravaners

We stayed on this site over the Easter bank holiday weekend, Really friendly and helpful owners, very happy to answer any questions about directions or where to visit.
Toilets and showers were absolutely fab, really clean and well maintained, good utility with washing up area and fridge freezer.
Ideal campsite if you just want a peaceful relaxing break or would be a good base for touring.
Lovely towns to visit nearby and Seaside about 40ish miles away (Aberyswyth)
A visit to the Red Kite feeding area is a must, they are fed every day at 3pm, they have about four hides for visitors.
Lovely large eggs can be bought on site.

Excellent value for money. Very friendly site owners. Spotless toilets/showers. Quiet site. Large selection of books to borrow during your stay. Nice area with good walks. Shop, cafe and garage a short distance away. Pub with quality food a mile away. Llandrindod Wells 3 miles away and Rhayader 8 miles. We visited Elan Valley which was very enjoyable and only just past Rhayader. Would recommend this site and very likely to visit again.

Just came back yesterday from a short break at Church House Farm. We had a lovely time, lovely and quiet ( we were the only ones there!)The attention to detail is brilliant, spotlessly clean shower and loos, double sink and bowls for campers, book exchange, magazines, hairdryer etc, & loads of local info. We had a walk round the damns and came back with a new adorable sheepdog puppy after a chance meeting with another farmer ( don't think its obligatory that you bring a puppy home from your break tho!) We also live on a farm, but was nice to have a break from the work for a couple of days. Not far to venture if you need shops or supermarkets, fresh eggs for sale on the farm too! If you want all singing/dancing entertainment provided then probably not for you, we don't! Our dogs enjoyed the change of scene and walks also! Lovely friendly people too! We'll certainly be back when we need a break. (wont be bringing another puppy home this time tho!)

This is a superb site for a quiet, friendly place to stay with excellent facilities and a great atmosphere. The pitches are well laid out with plenty of room and there is a nice large area for the children to play.
The owners are very helpful with advice about the local area and plenty of information is available in the reception/wash-up room including a good list of eateries and lots of local walk maps.
Stay there if you are in the area - you will not be disappointed.

We visited this site on the August Bank Holiday Sunday & Monday staying until Tuesday morning.
Our visit was NOT pre-booked but we were welcomed onto the site and offered any free pitch. Not needing an EHU we chose the grass which had been cut to an acceptable length for camping.
The facilities block is small but superbly appointed with three small rooms, two having toilet, wash basin and shower, the other just toilet and wash basin. Showers are free within the plot cost and are supplied from electric power shower units giving adequate water both volume and temperature. There is an additional room with wash-up sink and fridge for the use of visitors. All of this is kept spotless by the families who own and manage this site.
The site offers space for children to play and fly kites etc. Plus access to the nearby river for leisure and fishing.
The locality offers mountains, valleys, reservoirs and the township of Llandrindod Wells.
The site owners likes to walk the site each morning inviting comments from visitors.
All in all excellent value at £10 per night (without EHU).

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and was most pleased with the friendly owners and the shower and facilities.
We were lent a barbecue by the owners and access to land for our hobby.
In the nearby village there is an awesome cafe which is ideal for the lazy person. Me !
I would return without hesitation if the situation arises again.
The location is an ideal base for those wanting to explore the central region of Wales.

Very helpful and friendly owners.
The site is clean and well looked after.
It is a quiet, family friendly site, children have lots of room to run about.
The facilities are also clean and well looked after, cleaned daily. Three toilets, and two showers, easily accessible from all areas of the site. There is also a utility room with two large sinks for washing pots/clothes, washing up bowls provided. It also contains a fridge freezer for campers use. There is an ironing board (with iron on request). Hairdryer and a kettle are also available for campers use. The utility room also doubles as the reception.
There is a Texaco garage within walking distance, which has a small supermarket, cash machine, toilets, and a laundrette.
This was my 6year old sons first adventure into the camping experience, and he had a wonderful time. We had a quiet, relaxing holiday.

We visited Church Farm House in July 2013 after finding the site on the UK campsite website. We are very glad we did! This is an excellent site. Situated about 2 miles outside of Llandrindod Wells on a working farm. The camping field is very flat and you can camp alongside the hedge or in the middle of the lovely field. There are electrical hook ups if needed. If you have childen there is plenty of space for them to run around and play games etc. Lovely walks to the river are accessible through the farm. The facilities are the best we have ever seen. Absolutely immaculate and each cubicle provides a shower, wash hand basin and toilet! They make sure they are clean and provide clean handtowels twice a day. The washing up facility is also excellent with a large sink, washing up bowls, dishcloths and washing liquid all provided. There is a large fridge/freezer, hair dryer and iron! They made us feel very welcome and we were able to choose our own pitch as it wasn't very busy.
There is a local village shop where you can purchase the essentials but a very well stocked shop and good cafe up the road at the garage.
This is a lovely site to enjoy the delights of the Elan Valley or the fantastic mountain road through to Tregaron! There are lovely scenic roads to explore with tumbling rivers and streams.
We love this part of Wales and delighted to have found this gem of a campsite. We will return!
