The site is a mixture of residential mobile homes, static caravans, long term touring caravans, stored caravans, touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, basically all in large area. On our visit, some of the the long term residents were inclined to drive rather fast around the sites roads.
The toilets, 2 ladies and 2 mens and shower facilities, 1 for the ladies and 1 for the men were clean and appeared relatively new. The water was just the right temperature but most of the doors to these facilities did not close or lock properly. There was also a disabled / family shower and loo in the same building. I am glad there were few of us touring at the time of our visit because there was inadequate facilities for the size of the camping area.
The rubbish and recycling facilities were very good and were housed in a building attached to the farm but there was no dog poo bins or rubbish bins on the field near the vans or tents. It is a couple of miles walk into Harrogate, through a housing estate but unfortunately Bilton Park is not a site I will return to.

The site is very even and ideal for tents although you seem to pushed some distance away from the toilets / showers in favour of caravans / mobile homes. There is 1 male / female showers and 1 family shower. All seem quite new and very clean. There are also 2 male and 2 female toilets again very clean. The washing up facilities are sparse with only 1 sink being available quite a distance from the tent pitches, the rubbish disposal point is also situated here.
Price was £15 per couple per night which seemed reasonable. The local Sam Smiths pub, the Gardebers arms is full of character with friendly staff and cheap prices however food is available at lunch times only.
There is a lovely 3 mile walk along a cycle track leading into Knaresborough, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We liked this site and would certainly stay again and recommend it to others.

Hated it! Ladies toilet doors don't shut, shower light not working - unless you want to be in full view of passers by when you want to be private - not good! No rubbish bins anywhere in sight.
'Family Pub serving meals' described on the website is misleading - no food served in the evening - and we didn't see any food served at all when we were there!

This site is ideal for walking or cycling into Knaresborough or Harrogate avoiding the main roads. The site is normally very quiet at night but there can be quite a few children during school holidays, although they normally play in the large grassy area in the centre. The toilet block is reasonably modern and generally kept clean although it can be busy if the site is almost full. The wash up area leaves a lot to be desired & is definitely in need of upgrading. Only a small shop on site. Pitches are of a decent size, we have a large tent but had no problems. Hookups are available but you may have to book in advance if going at a busy time as they are limited. Site fees are reasonable, we paid £15 with electric. There is a nice pub just down the road from the site which is very cheap (if you like Sam Smiths). It advertises food but we have never seen any available so don't rely on it if you are planning to eat later as the local takeaways close early. Have now been to this site twice and will definitely be using it in the future as we like the peace and the pleasant walks nearby.

My partner, son and daughter went to this site at the end of july. The owner was relaxed when we arrived just telling us to pitch where we liked and then to see him later regarding the cost. We had already booked. Theres a main field in the middle of the site for campers. There are statics on the site as well as space for touring caravans. Oh and what look like residential lodges, where we thought people actually lived as they were that nice. The camping field is mostly flat with a bit of a slope but not too much. It's a long way from the camping field to take your rubbish to the farm but they have excellent recycling facilities if you can separate your rubbish! There is 1 female shower, 1 family shower and 1 male shower. Not many but these are free and the water is at just the right temperature! You just have to keep pressing the button to keep the water going and the facilities are very clean. There's a small play area which consists of one slide, one swing, climbing frame and a see-saw - not much but the kids made the most of it when they weren't running around! Good dog walking areas passed the site and local farmers have free range eggs, logs etc for sale. The eggs are big and delicious DO get some if you go! They were £1.50 per dozen - bargain! You would need to go into Harrogate or nearby towns to get most of your essentials. As the site info says - beware sat nav users as ours took us through a housing estate and we had arrived at our destination (according to the sat nav - but were actually just passed a pub)! If this happens to you - continue up the narrow sloping road until you pass the farm on your left, watch the bump over a little bridge type road and you will then arrive at the reception on your left.

Great campsite. Plenty of space for children to play, and they were free to play on their own as they could be easily seen from our campervan. The shower block was clean and had hot water, however there are only three showers in the whole building. The site wardens were very polite and approachable, therefore if any problems should arise I'm sure he would be very happy to sort them out. It is in a nice area with good walks surrounding it - be sure to get some eggs from the local chicken farms!

What can I say! we were totally disappointed. The shower block was so bad I couldn't take my shoes off in the shower and there was no hot water!no toilet paper, no soap need I go on. The site manager was never there and when he was he wasn't interested. The only plus point is that the kids had loads of space to play and ride bikes.Totally out priced at over 20 pounds a night for 2 adults and 2 children. Never go back.

1st trip in our family tent
Nice large field for camping and plenty of room for kids to play
Weather spot on so can't comment on drainage
Shop open intermittently(when owner was free rather than any specific time)
Washing up facilities literally an animal feeding trough in a shed - usable but hardly luxurious
Toilets + showers ok but they weren't cleaned in the 3 days that we were there so it got a bit grubby
Good location, quiet but accessible to shops/Harrogate/pub
This could be a v.nice site with a bit more effort on the owners part

Good quiet site with access to cycle routes to Knaresborough and Harrogate centre. Disappointed that toilets and showers were in need of a good clean but plenty of hot water available. Well situated for visiting North Yorkshires many attractions. Lovely free range eggs can be bought at the neighboring farms.

Stayed for 2 nights on this quiet site very close to Harrogate centre. The site itself is mainly occupied with statics, residential homes and seasonal tourers.
There are a few pitches for tents/caravans with or without EH.
When we started pitching a lady from one of the seasonal tourers adviced us to pitch a little further up on the site as where we were planning to pitch flooded when it rained. It did overnight and we were grateful for the advice!
The toliet facilities were clean, only 2 ladies toliets but never a queue, one shower but again never a queue. One family/disabled room with easy access, grab rails but a small shower cubicle which would not be accessable by chair users.
The shop was very basic but local shops within a few minutes drive. Very rarely saw owner / manager but friendly when you did see him.
Small playground, would suit smaller children, my 7yr old was not interested BUT was intersted in the huge grassed area to play in.And he did!
Eventually found the dustbins, tucked away of site along with a 'wash up room' I use the term loosely cos I wouldnt have washed my stuff up in it!
A pub 10 minutes walk away which served meals over lunch/dinner periods.
If your looking for a peaceful site with some lovely walks and want to be close to the Harrogate/ Ripon area then this is perfect. Site fees very reasonable £24 for our large Montana 6 for 2 nights.
Just watch for the flooding areas on site!
