We've just got back from a 4nights stay at wagtail park its a very well looked after campsite all clean and tidy I've only put one star for the facilities due to them been closed due to covid19.
The owner (guy in the red pickup) was great he greeted us on arrival and showed us to our pitch then advised us where to pitch up due to some bad weather that was on the horizon and when it came he was totally correct although the ground did flood a little it drained away really quick he was there most days checking everyone was ok etc.
As a angler I found the lake to be great I fished it the four days I was there and every day I caught more than enough fish all the fish were in really good condition
Would definitely book to go again.

The owner, Peter, was very helpful and welcoming. He gave us useful advice about the facilities on the site and convenient ways to travel into York.
The site was well maintained with a lovely fishing lake. Although it’s situated on quite a busy cut through road the noise wasn’t intrusive and didn’t bother us at all.
Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely spacious showers which were kept nice and clean.
Tidy site with all essentials available- water, electric hook up, bin area (including recycling) waste disposal and washing up area.
Very close to some nice pubs for bar meals and York is a short distance by car or Park and Ride.
Plenty of space between caravans for privacy.

Peter was ace (the site owner), gave us a tour of the site upon checking in.
Did not utilise the fishing but I saw a few people there so there must be some fish in the lake!
Clean site with clean bathrooms,
Will definitely visit again if in the area!

Lovely site! Highly reccomended!
Clean shower rooms & toilets! Dog friendly and there is a lovely dog walk! Fishing lake is really good, now fenced off to reduce risk of otters!
Subtle lighting at night, hard and soft standing, ehus! Very close to shops and York!
This site has everything for adults, children welcome but no play area as such however plenty of grass!

My Wife and I just spent another great relaxing week at Wagtail Park with my Cousin and his Wife and my Aunt, and while my Mrs relaxed and read, I had a week of great fishing with my Cousin & my Aunt, we must have caught just about every Barbel in the lake, but the lake offers almost every breed of Fish to keep all anglers happy, we must have caught well over 200 fish in the week, we lost count, and Pete couldn't be more helpful.
The site is close to all local amenities, Thompson's Fish & Chips (Recommended), is only a mile down the A64, then the Blacksmith's Arms in Huntington, (Recommended), allows your Dog into the Bar area, then there's all the major Superstores with shopping centre close by, then there's "York Tackle" at "Yarburgh Way" only 10 mins from Wagtail for your fishing needs, all in all, there's everything you'll need that will help make for a great week.
The amenities on the Site are excellent, with shower and toilet block, with a separate disabled toilet and shower, there's a separate toilet for when you're fishing, there's waste water disposal, and chem toilet disposal, plenty fresh water points, and every pitch has an electric hook up.
All in all, Wagtail Park is highly recommended, and I give it a 100% rating.
