Lovely little site in Westgate, Weardale.
Brilliant walks from the site and nice villages throughout the Dale.
The pub has its own brewery and does cracking beers and food.
Facilities are excellent and look that they’ve been updated recently.

Lovely quiet site. Clean and quite luxurious toilets and showers.
Hot water for washing up.
Not a place to, go, if you want nightlife.
But scenery was beautiful.

Quiet and relaxed - modern, clean toilets and shower.
Small site with a number of long term units.
Sited at the edge of the village beside the road.
Lovely countryside on the doorstep.
A 30 min walk to nearest pub.

Great little site. Close to the road but this is generally pretty quiet and it didn't disturb us at all. The river is on the other side and you can hear the river which is lovely. (But watch out for midges etc. In the evening. )
The location is fantastic, with lots of lanes and footpaths straight from the campsite with some stunning scenery, the walk up through Slit Woods past the waterfalls is not to be missed. Lots of wildlife and hardly any people!
St John's Chapel which is about 1. 5 miles up the road has a useful Co-op. There is also a lovely cafe called the Chatterbox Cafe and ew had good roast dinners and homemade pie and chips at the Golden Lion.
The toilet and shower block is modern and kept clean with very regular checks by the owner.

Very clean site, showers and toilets always clean,
Near to the river and some very good walks,
Whilst sitting in your tent you can watch bats catching flies.
There's a nice pub just down the road from the Campsite.

Situated in a wonderful spot, small, very reasonably priced site, shower block spick and span.
As others have mentioned the site is situated next to the road, this didn’t bother me. Right in the middle of of a glorious area,
I would definitely stay here again.
Dog friendly too😀

We love Weardale for its peace and tranquillity. We have been coming here for many years as a young child then as a dad now as a grandad.
If you like peaceful walks no crowds the sound of a river. This is spot on.
Small shower block with toilets but this is a small camp site so don't need a big shower block.

A small site on the far side of the village on the main road to Alston. You do get a bit of noise from the number of motorbikes that use the route.
Apart from that, the site is very good, with a small facilities block which is very clean and locked all the time but you do get a key. The sites right next to the river and a small ford crossing which is nice this time of year.
The pitches are nice and flat but are a bit small and you are close to the neighboring pitch.
We struggled to get a tv signal with our caravan aerial, probably need a better aerial as you are in a valley. No problems with phone signal and there's a great pub in the village. Stanhope is only 5 mile away and has some shops with good local produce. Will definitely be going back.
