Fabulous time. Lovely owner. Showering under the blue sky and picking blackberries on the way to the wonderful Six Bells in Chiddingly. Love the home-made feel and unique approach

Our second visit to this campsite and just as good as we'd remembered. We had a wonderful weekend and although very hot, was plenty of shade available under the trees.

It's a very chilled campsite and although there are only a couple of toilets and showers, you never seem to queue even though the campsite was fully booked.

Don't be put off by the compost toilets, they're very clean and the open air solar showers are a unique experience.

Recycling all the waste means there's very little left to take home, and it's great to be able to light fires.

The logs are delivered every evening at 5 for a massive bucket full.

It's great value and I'd highly recommend the campsite.

Merrylands is a beautiful campsite where you can be at one with nature and escape from it all.

Maggie and Sean are brilliant hosts and the whole set up is as eco friendly as you can imagine.

Would highly recommend Merrylands.

Really enjoyed it here. Maggie is great and on hand all the time. Its a basic site with basic facilities but has everything you need.

The compost loos are absolutely fine and have virtually no smell whatsoever.

The site is big with no set pitches so set up wherever you fancy.

 We absolutely loved this campsite.

Its what it says on the tin and we thought it perfect for a little camping break.

Anyone that wants a glamping experience, then this campsite isn't for you, but for those who enjoy open roof showers and popping a scoop of sawdust over your poop in the loo, then this is perfect.

Has everything you need for good old fashioned camping.

Booking was simple and the owner really lovely and friendly. We will definitely be going back

What a lovely campsite! Lots of space to pitch tents in two beautiful fields. Eco-friendly facilities are well cared for and fully functional. Discount rate for campers not arriving by car. Reasonably priced firewood can be bought from the owners, who are very friendly and live on site.

We explored the local area by bike, including an excellent tour of Hidden Spring vineyard in Horam, and watched the stars by our campfire in the evening.

We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

This is a fab campsite. We have been coming here for years and have always had a great time.

Lovely spacious fields, great for campfires, friendly owners, pubs in walking distance and great eco facilities.

Definitely recommend!

Great rustic off grid camping, with the added bonus of hot showers and washing up area. Plenty of space for kids and dogs allowed.

Lovely walks to pubs and 25 mins to the coast. Owners were welcoming and helpful. Will return. Thanks

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at Merrylands, our third time there. The couple who run the campsite are super friendly and work hard to maintain the eco site, with its composting toilets, outdoor hot showers, recycling area and fab washing up facilities.

The site is surrounded by truly beautiful countryside and is a very relaxing place to be. The children had a ball exploring, playing rounders and building dens.

Thank you Merrylands for creating such a beautiful escape. We will be back xxxx
