Can anyone recommend a smallish site in or around Devon with a swimming pool.  We have booked a week at Trevornick in Newquay Aug 19th but would like to stay somewhere quieter in Devon for a few days before. Thanks

Hi Suzy

Being unfamiliar with Devon we're not too sure where.  Hubby would prefer to be within an hours drive of Newquay though.  Either coast or inland

Thanks

We have just come back from a week at Whitehill Country Park Paignton. They had a great pool spent a few days in it.

I don't know of any, but I have asked this website's administrators before now if 'swimming-pool' could be added to the advanced search facility.  People do ask for sites with pools quite a bit. The response I had was that they would consider it but as I asked last summer, I've since assumed they've decided against.  What do others think? Would it be a useful addition?

Well I've been to all of these, and like them, but I don't think any of them are within an hour of Newquay...

Yeo Valley

Forest Glade

Woodovis

Deer Park

Volupturaptor - How did you like the Forest Glade site? It's somewhere we're considering for a short break this month.  Is it possible to actually camp under the trees, or is it all field-based?

Cheers!

Forest Glade was nice, I liked it. The camping pitches are all in fields, but the site is surrounded by trees, I don't think I felt a breath of wind all weekend when I was there, the place is a real suntrap! The kids play area has a very woodlandy feel to it, and you can go straight out of the site and instantly be on a woodland walk. Pool was nice too!
