You`ll love our campsite for its direct access to Windermere lakeshore, the magnificent views across the water to Wansfell Pike and the Fairfield Horseshoe and its proximity to an enticing choice of walks and activities in the central Lake District.
Choose from a wide variety of camping pitches - waterfront, lake view, meadow or woodland.
Alternatively stay in one of our 10 pods or 2 safari tents. We also have other glamping options available provided by our partner organisations.
Campervans are welcome at Low Wray. All pitches are hardstanding and there are 17 with electric and 4 without electric. The pitches vary in size and location - most are found beside the campsite track on the edge of the site with uninterrupted views across the fields to the Coniston fells. A few pitches are located in the woodland next to the beck with great access for launching canoes, but please note that there are no lakeside pitches for campervans.
Low Wray is the perfect base for a whole range of outdoor activities. There are opportunities for gentle walks and great off-road biking from the campsite. The quiet country lanes will also prove attractive to cycle tourers.
Low Wray is an ideal base for lovers of waters-ports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching. Sorry, no powered craft.
We have a whole range of activities on and from the campsite to encourage campers to leave their cars behind, including Kayak hire, Bike hire, Canoeing and Moonlit Canoeing sessions. There is also a children`s playground, bird hide, on-site orienteering course and you can even hire a bat detector kit.
If you fancy a night off from cooking whilst you`re here, try out a delicious pizza from our onsite wood fired pizza oven.
Please note: to preserve the quiet nature of the site, we do not accept parties of more than four adults. However, organised groups and clubs such as scouts, clubs, school groups, etc, may book our group field in advance.
