Description
Pitches: 13 Acres
Opening dates for summer 2022 -Closed for the season, sorry.
Weston Dairy Campsite is situated in Worth Matravers (near Swanage), in the Isle of Purbeck, on the magnificent Jurassic Coast, only 40 mins drive from the Olympic sailing venue at Weymouth.
The campsite extends to 13 acres of level ground and is adjacent to cow and calf grazing fields.
Facilities include loos, showers and a kitchen gazebo where Marion cooks breakfasts in the morning. Choice of local sausage or bacon rolls, with an egg if required! Hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, Purbeck ice cream and lollies are available all day. The Gazebo is also open in the evening for locally sourced burgers and salad.
Weston Farm is a 750 acre working mixed farm and is located to the west of the village and runs down to the sea and spectacular cliffs.
There is an extensive network of footpaths linking to the South West Coastal Path, a World Heritage Site. Bicycles can be hired locally.

Nearby Attractions
The local pub is the world famous "Square and Compass" which regularly features as one of the most unspoilt pubs in England. It has award- winning real ales and ciders and also has regular music nights. The stone-carving festival is also a popular attraction in the summer.
Winspit caves and beach are a mile away. Ideal for deep water swimming and exploring a disused Portland quarry site. It has been used as a filming location for scenes in Dr Who, Blake's 7 and, more recently, the Disney film, John Carter of Mars. It is also the location for Chris de Burgh's Moonfleet.
St Aldhelm's Chapel (a Norman chapel on the cliff edge) is well worth a visit. Nearby is a RAF radar memorial as Worth Matravers was an important radar base during WW2.

Owner Directions
After Wareham follow the A351 towards Swanage. After passing through the village of Corfe Castle (National Trust) turn right towards Worth Matravers. Go up a steep hill following the road round to the left at The Scott Arms pub (very good food including a Jerk Shack cooking Caribbean food at weekends). Take the next right towards Worth Matravers. When entering the village turn right at the Square and Compass, go past the duck pond and church and keep going along Weston Road for 400m. At the farm yard there is a sign for the campsite which is round a sharp bend on the right.
