Orkney Ferries will take you to Rapness Pier at the south of the island. It is 7 miles from the campsite and village. Follow signs for Pierowall or catch the local bus which meets every ferry in the summer months.
Chalmersquoy Campsite is situated at the south of Pierowall Village and is well signposted.
To book Orkney Ferries please call 01856 872044.
Also at Chalmersquoy is "The Barn" hostel and self catering facilities so watch for signs for "The Barn" too.
Situated on the edge of Pierowall Village, the campsite is a short walk away from all the local amenities. In the village you will find two amazingly well stocked shops (selling fresh local bread), a hotel which offers good homemade food, a heritage centre, a fantastic fish merchant (with an added bonus of fish and chips on Wednesdays and Saturdays), a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a cafe, children's play park and local craft shops.
Other local attractions are not far away. The beaches and coastline are well worth a wander not forgetting Noup Head cliffs and bird reserve, Noltland Castle and the Castle o'Burrian where the puffins are in plentiful supply.
Round of your afternoon with a coffee at the Wheeling Steen Gallery and you will be relaxed and in full holiday mode in no time.
