 Unfortunately we were very disappointed with this site and cut our stay short as a result. Location is okay but local area on the outskirts of Bath is not brilliant.
Main issue is the welfare facilities which are in poor condition and dint seem to be maintained. Examples are toilet cubicles that have not lock at all, toilets that don't flush, toilet seats broken and on the floor, hand dryer not working, showers dirty, bad smells.
These complaints relate to both toilet/shower blocks. General park, despite it's name which makes it sound lovely, is not particularly tidy with hedges and trees not cut back and which consequently you scrape past.
Sorry for rant but we have travelled all over the UK for 6 months in the last 15 months and this has been the most disappointing site.

We picked the site for its location. Easy access into Bath, 5 minute walk to the park and ride or a 2 to 3 mile walk along the canal. Two nice pubs in easy walking distance.
The site is nicely laid out, lots of trees, but pitches can be quite tight.
Unfortunately, as others have said, the site is let down by the facilities. Toilet/shower block was clean but basic and dated with very weak showers.
Our pitch was very close to the bins which would benefit from some form of screening.
Expensive weekend, at almost £50 a night (including dog) we would have expected better facilities.

Great location just a poor site.
Facilities are the worst we have experienced in over 20 years camping/ caravaning and motorhoming. 4 ladies and 4 gents showers for full site.
Block nearest our pitch was tired and dirty. Dishwashing areas poor, some with no hot water.
Big groups noisy until well past midnight.
Hotel bus stayed overnight in car park with their guests trying to use same facilities.
On the whole an uncared for site which is a shame given cost and location.

So not as expected. Booked a small riverside pitch - couldn't really see or access river, grass surrounding pitch was all weeds.
Facilities - Ugh! No wonder they don't show you on website; Portacabin! tiny cubicles and not enough for site and oh my so hot. (fit for a festival!) Showers not adjustable so hot or hot - not what you want on a 30+ degree day. Went to other facilities block, no better and really bad smell. Not what we expected for the ideal location for Bath at the prices they charge.
Needless to say we didn't even stay 1 night - we went home! With new facilities and good site management it could be a gem! unfortunately not so!

This site is well presented online but we were disappointed it didn't seem to match the blurb.
Arrival was bland, a receptionist told us no more than our pitch number and the locations of facilities.
The pitch was concrete and quite level but the turning spaces were very tight. Facilities were not pretty but they were functional.
The good thing about the site being next to the canal was direct access to the bridleway/footpath taking the walker into Bath. Not a short walk but pleasant enough.

Lovely location we stayed in motorhome we pitched up the park and ride into Bath is only 5 mins away so great for getting into Bath.
Site next to lovely river with 2 pubs within walking distance. Regarding the site do feel they could do more as it's expensive to stay per night.
Toilets bit run down but are clean. Rubbish storage was full up so rubbish was falling out nor emptied regular.
Don't be put off as it's the location that's really good. Staff very helpful and friendly

Great campsite - chosen for its convenience for getting to Bath. It was walkable or there are buses within a 5 minute walk.
There are two dog-friendly pubs a short walk away in the riverside too.
The site itself is well laid out with spacious pitches, for even the largest coach built motor homes. All with EHU and water nearby.
The facilities were clean and ample as most people in the larger mohos were self sufficient.
A little updating of the shower areas might be due before too long.
However plenty of hot water plus a hairdryer!

The location of the campsite is extremely handy for bath about 35/40 minute walk, 2 ½ miles away, though the Bath park & ride is about 3 minutes walk from the site, this will take you into centre Bath.
On the campsite, I opted for a Carousel pitch, a hardstanding, nice cul de sac of pitches, but the walk to the Portacabin facilities is about 75/100 metres, the main ones, at the main gate even further, if you pay for a main pitch, you'll be closer to these facilities.
The Portacabin showers were hot, but they are a bit cramped, I didn’t use the main block near the entrance, as they were a bit far from my pitch.
The washing up places, looked like converted sheds, these had low ceilings, if you +6ft you'll need to crouch throughout, though the water was very hot.
The campsite is near a road, the Carousel pitches are the closest pitches to the road, though you could hear light traffic and the boy racers at night, it wasn’t heavy, it didn’t wake me up. The campsite, as a whole is quiet, I had no issues.
There is some good access to the river towpath and cycle paths directly from the site.
A local pub on the Avon is called The Boathouse, about 3 minute walk from the campsite, though take a torch with you at nightfall, as the walk is down a unlit towpath. I found getting seated in there midweek was ok, Friday and Saturdays extremely busy and very popular especially, if the sun is out.
There is another pub on the way to Bath called The Locksbrook Inn, about 12 minute walk from the campsite, down the towpath, but during the week ok, weekends were very busy.
I have to say enjoyed my stay, I would stay here again, if ever visiting Bath again.

Our first time at this site. Recommended by a friend.
Quick and easy book in the staff were very friendly and helpful with local information.
Our pitch was good and plenty of room for our motor home. Showers and toilets are in a porta cabin but were very clean and the showers were free. It was very quiet at night.
The Boathouse pub is less than 10 mins walk along the river bank.
The park and ride is the other side of the Boathouse pub and it’s an excellent service to Bath city centre.
Overall the site was very good, well kept and litter free.
We’re planning to go back for the Xmas market.

Very tired site. Lack of security allowed a group of drunk youths to come in and use the facilities and then walk through the site.
Portacabin toilet block was awful, it was dirty, smelly and there was no temperature control on the showers and the water was scalding. The water in the shower didn't drain quickly enough and you were left standing in a pool of water. The taps in the sinks were so powerful you got soaked just washing your hands.
It's location is it's saving grace so close to beautiful Bath, 30 minute walk along the river and great local cycling.

Site situated on the edge of Bath. Good location and close to the city centre.
The facilities are clean and the ground well maintained.
Good transport links into the city centre, the Bristol & Bath cycle way and the Avon & Kennet canal.

Fabulous location right on the canal and the park and ride is 6 or 7 minutes walk away. Pitches are not huge where we were, check if you have a large unit. Our 7m motorhome overhung the grass quite a bit.
Facilities - basic but clean. Showers are hot and powerful. Seems to be more common these days to have the rubbish bins at the site entrance.
Shop sells a few basic snacks and drinks, can t remember if they sold camping essentials.
Can be a little bit of traffic noise during the day but generally peaceful.
30 mins walk into Bath city centre along the canal, we got the bus back.

Good site. Pitches are adequate but access to the pitch is narrow. The grass on our pitch could have done with a cut. Behind our pitch was a group of trees which appear to have been used as a dumping ground for rubbish and garden waste. This needs to be cleared.
The toilet block nearest to our pitch by the exit needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch. The toilets are smelly. The showers do not drain so ended up standing in a couple of inches of soapy water.
On the plus side the site has great access to public transport for days out to Bath and Bristol. Easy to get onto river Avon towpath for a pleasant stroll.
Will not be rushing back

We were recommended this site by some friends as we wanted to re-visit Bath.
They did say it wasn't 5* but we take as we find.
Really warm, friendly welcome and given lots of information about the site and surrounding area.
Nice big hardstanding pitch with EHU and TV hook up.
We were almost in the middle of the 2 'facilities' blocks, so very handy.
We used the 'portacabin' block and it was always clean but definitely needs upgrading. Showers were VERY small and I found it difficult to shower and dry, etc. I do prefer site with privacy cubicles but that's just a personal thing.
Very limited re-cycling and bins near the other block were VERY full.
On our first evening there were a couple of kids riding round and round the site after 8pm (once the wardens had gone home?!) on mini motorcycles almost in the dark! Thankfully they had gone the next day, so hardly any point in reporting?
On the plus side you can walk into Bath from the site, along the river, past a pub. There is also another pub close by. We didn't use as the latest reviews weren't great. The park and ride into the city is also close by (5/10 minute stroll) and was well priced at £5. 60 for 2 adult returns. Buses every 15/20 minutes.
Bath is a beautiful city and we found plenty to do.
The best thing about this site is location but would we stay again? Only if the facilities were upgraded.

I've previously been to this site and returned this year as we wanted to visit the Christmas market in Bath. The site was tidier than I'd previously seen.
The toilet blocks had been a little refurbed and the one I used did have an heater. The basins for handwashing are quite small and turning the tap required some care to avoid being splashed the entrance door opens outward and on one occasion the handle came off which resulted in me being trapped in for a few minutes.
The site roads are tarmac most pitches are concrete based putting an awning up would have been difficult.
The waste bins are at the exit though this isn't mentioned in the welcome pack. No guidance for what could be recycled so it is mainly guesswork.
Access is quite good there are speed bumps so keeping the speed down is advisable. The site roads to the pitches are narrow and the pitches generally are quite small. It couldn't fit my 6. 46m van and I had to overhang on to the grass area at the rear of the caravan.
Television reception is really bad, its worth pointing out that the ehu's have ariel co-ax points. Perhaps I was unlucky that the one for my pitch didn't work.
The nearest pub/hotel The Boathouse was a short stroll away I called in for a pint and for me the place lacked atmosphere, the Locksbrook relatively near but a little further away was a better choice.
We had frost when we stayed this did ice up the drinking water points and on one occasion the CDP water pipe for cleaning the cassette. If you use the dishwashing facilities beware of the low headroom,
The staff were friendly and helpful and the proximity to the Park and ride is an important asset. One mention about the Park and Ride access, if you have a wheelchair or mobility scooter don't be tempted by the shortcut via the riverbank do use the site entry and exit point.
This could be an excellent site but this would mean larger pitches, maybe that would result in fewer ones and larger modern brick built amenity blocks.
This sounds like a negative review it isn't meant to be and the bottom line is I would go again.
