 Just spent 2 nights at this lovely, quiet CL near Brampton. Read all the reviews before booking, and found all the previous comments to be very accurate. This really is a fabulous CL which is very well managed by owners Andrew and his wife, Leigh. Given a very friendly welcome and visited later on site by owners to check all was well. Nothing at all to complain about here, toilet and shower room was always warm and kept very clean, hair dryer and straighteners are a nice touch for anyone wishing to use them. Pitches are of good size, flat & well spaced out. Any one of the pitches would have been more than adequate for our large twin axle caravan. Site is very well situated just off A689 Carlisle to Brampton and only 10 minutes or so from M6. Highly recommended CL and certainly would consider this site for another visit. Well done to the owners for their friendliness and superb efforts in keeping this CL to such high standards.

What a gem of a site very easy to find off M6 but far enough away from it. Arrived on site and details are there waiting for you choose a pitch set up and relax. Shower/toilet (two one disabled access) are spotless with everything you would need including hand wash (nice touch. The owner came round to welcome us when he had finished his farming duties nice man explained everything and pointed out route to Hadrian's wall (which is actually on the farm. ) There was no down side to this site at all I would recommend this one to all including families. Plenty of nice Flat walks from the site and a nice wide grass verge to road outside for dog walk morn and night.

We returned to this site for 2 nights after only spending one night here last year. This is a lovely site which is of a very high standard. There is a small toilet block with a shower and two toilets. The shower is lovely and warm with a sink and mirror inside and a large area for getting changed. The hard standing pitches are level and on arrival you simply select a free pitch. There's a small information room with plenty of leaflets. We spent a day in Carlisle which is only a short drive from the site and also visited a nearby garden centre. Brampton has a few shops should you need anything and a Co Op. The owner greeted us on arrival and is a friendly gentleman, also returning the following evening to ensure we were happy and hadn't had any problems. Can't wait to return!

This is a terrific site, with hardstanding, which we asked for as the last place we stayed we had to be towed out with a tractor, the ground was so sodden. But even if we had opted for grass, it would have been fine as it drains well. The ground is flat, the views are great, and Andy the owner is very helpful. At his suggestion we took a walk around the farm, actually walking on top of Hadrians Wall.
This was quite a find, and we were lucky that someone cancelled so that we could stay two nights, and see the local sites/sights.
Highly recommend.

Just returned from this lovely little site where we enjoyed 3 lovely nights over the Easter weekend. Met on arrival by Leigh who advised us that we could pitch wherever we want to and not to worry about payment until we were all set up. The information sheet provided on arrival in the information room made suggestions on emergency doctors, tourist information and local take aways which would deliver to site for a small fee! This was very useful indeed.
Andrew came round later in the day to check everything was ok.
The toilet block consisted of two sinks with very hot water, two toilets and a shower. In addition there was also a hairdryer and straighteners available all of which had no additional charge payable. We only had to wait once for a shower. External to the toilets and shower was the under cover pot wash area, along with various recycling bins.
Andrew, and his dad David, took time out of their busy schedule to show us round the farm. All of us thoroughly enjoyed this, especially being able to hold the new born lambs. This memory will stay with the children for a long time.
No playground for the children but that didn't really bother them.
Overall, a fantastic little family run site and at £19 per night, over Easter, with electric hook up, very reasonably priced too. We will return.

This is a wonderful little site and the owners couldn't be more helpful. It is in a peaceful spot but still handy for the M6 or for exploring Cumbria. The facilities were excellent for a small site and there is plenty of space along the quiet lane to walk dogs. We walked part of the Hadrian's wall walk and back again to site - a beautiful part of the country. The only thing to bear in mind is that although they are hard standing pitches you have to drive over grass to get to them. Nevertheless despite the previous wet weather we didn't actually have a problem and in any case the owners would have been quite ready with a tow if necessary.

We visited the site, because of its locality to Carlise Airport. Its a short run from the site to the airport. Its small, well maintained and the young lady who answered the door was very pleasant. The info sheet we were given on arrival was very explicit, and told us that accses to Hadrians wall was even closer than we thought (right behind the farm). Amenities wise it had a single shower /toilet block with 2 toilet cubicles and 1 shower. 2 sinks with nice hot water. I would definitely use this site again my only concern being the amount of toilets

We decided to extend our holiday to Keswick by having a stop over at this site on the way. What a find! The site is on a working farm but it certainly wasn't noisy. It's an enclosed site so great for the kids to play in the middle while being able to keep an eye from the comfort of your caravan. Although this is a certified site there are 2 toilets and a shower on site. The quality of the facilities far exceeds what you would expect from a little certified site. They were immaculately clean. We only had our debit card so when the owner came to collect the money we found out we couldn't pay! This wasn't a problem though as the next day we visited nearby Brampton which is a beautiful little village with ample free parking. We got the money and simply rang the owner when we returned - so make sure you bring cash! This site is beautiful, our only disappointment was the fact we only booked for one night here. I would have liked to have stayed longer to explore Brampton further, visit Carlisle and have a walk on the Hadrian's wall path (which can be accessed directly on site). We definitely shall return and will be spending more than one night - this place is an absolute gem.

We have been visiting this site frequently since it first opened - it is outstanding! The owners cannot do enough to ensure their campers get what they want - peace and quiet, small but excellent facilities, lovely view, area to walk dogs, and quick access to the surrounding area. The only criticism I can make is about the few `campers' who ignore camping/caravanning good behaviour - ie noisy or let their children run riot; others are dirty and leave toilets/shower dirty or litter; some are just out to complain because they are not nice people. Nevertheless the owners make every attempt to deal with these people in a pleasant manner. I advise anyone reading a poor review to ignore it.

A review following our lovely week at Bleatarn campsite. A small family run site in a beautiful location and easily accessible. We were met by the friendly owner and was advised to pitch where we wanted and even offered to give us a hand.
The owner also the farmer makes sure he pops round every morning and evening to check if things are ok and offer any advice on the surrounding area. A very busy man, it amazes me how he gets any farming done with his chatty nature and even took out time to play a board game with my daughter.
The pitch offered nice grass and was very flat with the little rain we had it did not flood. Also available were picnic tables to use next to your tent.
The toilets were very clean and well stocked with hair dryers, mirror and cleaning products to use freely. Even though there is only one shower we never queued and being a unisex facility suited us with our young daughter. Oh and I liked the fact the shower was free and very warm.
The area is lovely and you are only a few miles from the nearest attractions. There is no shop on site but there is really nice butchers and places to eat and a supermarket in nearby Brampton.
Honestly this site is a little gem and I cant wait to visit at Easter.

Its a pleasure to write another review for Bleatarn Farm, its now about 18 months since I first visited the site and the standards are as high as ever, even though the campsite has now all the visitors that I thought it would have when word spread about how good it was. I can’t add a lot more to what I said 18 months ago. As I said standards are as high as ever even when it had its maximum number of tents and caravans. Andrew still managed to get around every visitor to ensure everyone’s stay was a good experience. So, Well done all at Bleatarn you have the success you have worked so hard to achieve.

We have become regular users simply because we find this an impeccably organised and managed site. We have used it about 4 times now, mostly for overnights [midway between home, in North Aberdeenshire, and South of England] but came to like it so much that we have done one one [and plan more] rather longer breaks. The Solway Coast is a beautiful and uncrowded part of UK and we are appreciating it more and more.
Owners are friendly without being in anyway intrusive - a difficult balance achieved apparently effortlessly. Facilities cover everything you would expect on a big site and are scrupulously maintained. Pitches are hard standing and bang on level. Appearance of the whole is neat, tidy and cared for. Users feel cared for too. A wee treasure!

Great little site - fantastic if you're not a fan of huge sites with caravans & tents as far as the eye can see.
Facilities also great - very clean, warm & really good condition.
Lots of information about things to do locally, and Andrew is the most friendly & chatty campsite owner I've ever met - how he manages to chat so much & still keep the farm running I'll never know!
Will definitely return.

We visited this super little site for 2 nights whilst walking the Hadrians Wall path. It was the best by far of the several other sites we used in the area including two C and CC sites which were really quite poor. Ideally situated for touring and the long distance path, immaculately clean and very well organised with lots of thought having gone into providing everything one could possibly need, even hair straighteners as well as hair dryer in the toilet block. Quiet and with lovely views and a very friendly welcome plus good value. We cannot recommend this site more highly!

What a gem we found with this fantastic CL site, high standard from the facilities to the pitches. Warm friendly welcome was received from owners, welcome letter given with lots of useful and local information. Facilities (unisex) are of a high standard and are spotlessly clean, with good shower and hairdryer. Well spaced, reasonable level, pitches, EHU positioned nicely. Peaceful site the most noise was the farm animals, lovely walks from the site over Hadrian’s wall.
Ideal site situated, 5miles from M6 (10Mins). Local pub just re-opened no food, just 3 miles away is The Stag in Crosby which serves tasty homemade food and great local real ale. Most definitely the best site I’ve visited in the last few years.
