Good site for access to Whitby and Sandsend bus stop nearby.
25 min stroll to Whitby. Great views.
Toilets are adequate but only 2 showers and site was full jubilee weekend.
£21 per night good value for money.
Just need to get new shower block up n running.

Great site. Great Views. Short walking distance to the town.
Toilets are "functional". Two toilets in units that include two showers each. If someone is using the shower, it excludes the use of the toilet! Times that by two, BIG problem.
Not suitable facilities for a family with small children.
Tent field is sloping. No level pitches.
Otherwise, a Great week.

Hi, my visit was to book for march 2022 & I was given a tour of the site & description of the static caravans.
The owner was very courteous & answered all enquiries.
I found it a very welcoming & friendly place.

Fantastic views of the sea, very helpful staff
Liked that the owners took our caravan and sited it for us and made it level
Only downside of this site is the toilets big let down,
What is needed is a new toilet and showerblock /as we have been here a couple of times now and have only managed to use them a couple of times as there is only two and they are usually occupied,
With the size of the site they need a lot more /
Having said that the site is excellent value considering the panoramic views
Would highly recommend.

Perfect site for us, we love walking and there is lots of pleasant walks close by.
Bathrooms were cleaned regularly just a pity the washing up area was still closed due to covid.
A lovely break for us, thanks.

Yet another enjoyable stay at one of our favourite campsites. We have been visiting now for approx. 15 years & every time we visit, we are intrigued to find out what improvements have been made. Derek is the most busiest chap I know, he is on the go all the time but always finds time to stop and chat.
We were lucky enough to get a pitch on the front row & had uninterrupted views of the coast. The site can be quite windy as it’s quite exposed but it’s a small price to pay when you wake up every morning and look out of your window,
Like other campsites, covid does mean that the site has had to adapt accordingly. Limited facilities were available but we chose to use our own. Our friends in a Motorhome used the showers & toilets every day & were more than happy with the cleanliness. Unfortunately one of the toilets was in a poor state one day but that is not the fault of the owners; why people think it is acceptable to leave a facility in such a disgusting state is beyond me. We did notice that the facilities were cleaned regularly & toilet rolls were replenished so you can’t ask for anything more.
The site has a relaxed atmosphere with a few simple rules which are really common sense. Children have lots of space to run round and most seemed well behaved. Although a little noisy during the day, all was quiet at night.
There is lots to do close by. One day we walked through the Raithwaite estate to a lovely tea room, another day we walked to Ruswarp to a lovely tea garden, another day we ate out in Sandsend and on another day we walked from Goathland to Grosmont, stopping off for tea & scones along the way!
By far the best thing about High Straggleton Farm, apart from the views, is the friendliness of everyone on site. Derek met us as soon as we arrived, he had us set up in no time & we enjoyed 11 days of bliss & are already looking forward to our next visit. I would like to congratulate Derek & his team, they work really hard to ensure everyone has an enjoyable stay & everything is done with a smile. An added bonus is the food wagon on site, we didn’t use it this time but our friends did & were impressed.

Positives:
*staff are marvellous - Derek took us to our pitch and used blocks to get us level
*views are amazing - we were right at the front of the field
*approx 20min walk across a field and down a ravine onto a lovely stretch of sandy beach
*huge field for dog walking
*£18/night with electric - bargain
Negatives:
*big site - lots of caravans, motorhomes and tents but only two shower rooms (at either end of a portacabin) and one other toilet. Appreciate most units are likely to have their own facilities but still feel this is inadequate. Never actually managed to get to use showers as too many waiting
*it is a working farm so lots of machinery around, building materials, rubble etc
*quite noisy at night - children running around screaming and shouting till well after 10pm and loud adults
*advertises children’s playground but there isn’t one - didn't bother us but it is misleading
*advertises kitchen area/wash up facilities but couldn’t find this anywhere
Lovely spot but not one to return to for us

The location of the site is excellent as it is within walking distance of Whitby and there are sea views from the campsite.
However our visit was spoiled by the totally inadequate toilet facilities.
Apparently the owners insurance company has forced the closure of the communal blocks leaving only two combined toilet/shower rooms to serve the campsite. Consequently there were queues at most times and long waits for the toilets.
Also there is no hot water at all at the wash basins and toilet paper is not provided.
We were very disappointed as we had stayed here before but would not have done so this time if advised of the situation.

Fantastic views on site owners very welcoming even set our caravan up on our pitch and levelled it up,
The only negative is there weren't toilet facilities for the amount of tourers,
Very reasonable for the money
Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
PS you wouldn't no that the site was there as there is no sign post on the main road as we drove straight past it, a little hidden gem.
Hadn't been to sandsend before a lovely little place.
