Spent one night here in july, reception/ shop is small but very welcoming. Pitches are very big although I do have a tiny camper!. We went to the restaurant and it was nice food. Not much around in short walking distance so it was nice having restaurant on board. There is plenty of toilets and shower rooms, next time I will choose carefully as I didn't get on with the shower, it was a individual unisex bathroom, and there was a shower cubical. I went in and turned it on and it was Cold!
Had leave the door open while I worked it out, I soon cleaned up the water on the floor with paper towels that was provided luckily. The exclusive signs scattered around the campsite stating for discerning adults is slightly over the top and doesn't actually serve a valuable purpose. This is a nice quiet campsite and I would recommend and return. Thank you
This was our first trip in a motorhome and we were placed in 4 Valley view on a nice pitch with a reasonably secluded, if small, grass area.
This site is one of the best kept and prettiest we've visited with lovely dog walking area and riverside walks. They Pymore inn is a free house some 17 minutes down the Brit valley. A longer walk but well worthwhile is to the Hare and Hounds (Palmers brewery) in Waytown. It's 30 minutes and a still uphill finish but the garden does have the best views of any pub I have been to.
Screening from hedges and trees is generally reasonable.
The facilities are excellent. Showers and toilets are clean with hot water and plenty of space. Tip - do use the unisex showers at the back - much more space.
No complaints about the price as we pre booked. It was just about worthwhile for the location, solitude and facilities. If you are a penny pincher this might not be the site for you.
Just spent three great nights here, staff very helpful, food was really good we ate in the Buzzards bar and restaurant. Showers and toilet facilities are fantastic, its a great site and will definitely return. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
Have just returned from a wonderful bank holiday break at this lovely site. We arrived on Saturday, a little earlier than the 12pm arrival time but this was not a problem. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming giving lots of useful information about the site this being our first stay. We were shown to our pitch by a member of staff which we also felt was a very nice touch. The site is very well maintained, there is nothing out of place, so clean and tidy with lovely hedges round the pitches offering privacy for those who want it. The dog walk is one of the best we have ever seen on a caravan park. We went to Buzzards Restaurant which was a great surprise, the food was excellent and couldn't fault anything at all. We will be back again this year to enjoy more of Bingham Granges excellent hospitality.
As previous review we were amazed at the amount of signs everywhere for generally common sense things that said thought the site immaculate especially the walk in shower room. Reception not the best I've had or maybe she was having an off day. The pitch we were offered was changed for another with the minimum amount of fuss. We used the Buzzard bar once and although the food was good thought the place lacked a little atmosphere. There is an hourly bus at the end of the drive during the day only to Bridport. Taxi back was £8. Last post mentioned price-paid about £71 on some sort of deal for three nights.
Set in 15 acres of breathtaking countryside, right next door to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, this site offers stunning views of the Chesil Bank, Fleet Lagoon, and Lyme Bay. Welcoming tents, motorhomes and caravans, this family friendly site offers spacious grass pitches with or without electric. For kids there's an outdoor heated swimming pool, 3 acre playing area including slides, swings and more.
Facilities include toilets, showers, washing up, launderette, and WifI. There is an onsite shop and off-licence. The Bar in the Barn at the site serves a delicious food and offers a variety of entertainment, including live music. As well as the attractions of Weymouth's beach and harbour, this is a great base to explore family attractions throughout South and West Dorset. Find out more here
We've used this site for a number of years now, mostly in a tent, and have seen it develop and mature. This was our first trip in a motorhome and we were placed in the top field on a nice pitch with a reasonably secluded, if small, grass area.
Firstly, this site is one of the best kept and prettiest we've visited with lovely dog walking area and riverside walks. Screening from hedges and trees is generally ample, particularly in the lower field. The top of the lower field seems to contain mostly seasonal pitches. Unlike others we haven't witnessed a sense of superiority from other visitors.
I do agree that the signage is perhaps slightly over-zealous, with one even prescribing the length of an extending lead! I also visited the area marked 'Waste and Recycling' to find a notice explaining that recycling is not actually there at all!
We've found the staff mostly to be helpful although have often noticed a formality and certain lack of warmth when booking in. There was no recognition that we are fairly regular visitors, even though this information becomes available on booking.
The facilities are excellent. Showers and toilets are clean with hot water and plenty of space. Having said that we don't visit in peak seasons. The on-site restaurant serves decent pub-grub but doesn't open every evening out of season.
My main gripe with Bingham Grange is price. We paid £26 for one night (inc. Dog and hook-up), which was £10 more than a nearby site which had better showers and customer service. Frankly, it seems to us that the owners see tourers as the icing on the cake and have been nudging prices up steadily. Sadly, it's got to the point that, although it's undoubtedly a lovely and well cared for site, it is simply too expensive to visit. It is only April after all and we can't justify such prices when we can take our pick of pleasant sites in the vicinity. As a result, after so many happy visits, we probably won't be returning.
Beautifully kept and run adults only campsite set in the stunning Dorset countryside.
We recently stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely large secluded hardstanding pitch overlooking the countryside towards Bridport.
Easy to find (from the campsites instructions) and swift, friendly check in. Spotless site and facilities.
Small shop (in reception) with a few essentials including daily newspapers (no need to pre-order). Lovely walks from the site (great for dog owners) and the bus to Bridport stops right outside the site entrance (you have to wave him down!). I think it was about £3. 60 each (return) to Bridport and back for those not lucky enough to yet own a bus pass! Lots to do in the lovely town and great market on Saturdays. We also visited West Bay (or Broadchurch if you prefer!). We walked from Bridport and back (1. 5 miles ish each way). Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by whilst eating fish & chips!
Buzzards Bar (the on site bar & restaurant) is fantastic. Lovely food, great portions, nice choice of beer and cider and great service and just a short stagger home!
We first came here three years ago as relatively inexperienced motorhome owners. We decided to bring our caravan here for the second half of a two week break as we knew the area and remembered the site as being good, particularly as it's adults only.
In its favour is a superb dog walking area, its proximity to the Jurassic coast and the on site bar and restaurant which is convenient for an evening drink and which serves good food at reasonable prices. They will also prepare meals as a takeaway option.
The toilet and shower block, given its boast as loo of the year, is a little disappointing. While it is clean and well maintained the toilet/shower rooms consist of four with toilet, shower and basin and are a little cramped for space. There is a shower and basin room. There are two new and larger unisex shower rooms which are more spacious with slate floors. There is also a small traditional male and female toilet and shower block. Not a lot for 130 or so pitches including around 30 tent pitches.
The pitches are mostly spacious but very close together and not all have dividing hedges and so many windbreaks were in evidence. They are also in places on slopes and the pea gravel on the hardstanding is deep and so we needed to borrow blocks to stop our jockey wheel sinking. They are a bit like walking on a shingle beach. The tent pitches look to be very good although we have no expertise in this area.
People in the lower parts of the site face un uphill walk to the main block over a very poorly maintained drive. Not great when getting toilet cassettes to the only chemical waste emptying point.
Staff are reasonably friendly and helpful but there is an element of overkill on the number of notice boards with the rules and regs. It feels a bit like being in school.
Overall this is a mostly well maintained site with good facilities but is a little businesslike. A greater feeling of privacy and fewer notices would make it feel more welcoming.
We've just returned after a five night stay. The site was exceptionally maintained with cut hedges and grass verges. Most pitches are separated by a hedge which afforded privacy if you needed it. The toilet/shower facilities were on par with other good camp sites. However, the private shower room/toilets were to die for. A true luxury and offered total privacy when attending to your personal needs.
The shop/reception was fine. We were given a warm welcome and escorted to our pitch.
The dog walks were excellent with secure wooded walkways and a stream for cooling off. The site was surrounded by walks in all directions clearly marked.
The site was quiet and the staff helpful and polite - all wearing company tee shirts which added to the overall effect.
The bar/restaurant was to a very high standard somewhat wasted I would have to say. Such a shame it isnt used more. One way might be to allow dogs onto the veranda (they are not allowed anywhere in or around the bar).
I would recommend this site as a peaceful, quiet, dog friendly site and will go back should we decide to visit this part of the world again.
A word of warning! The travel guidance supplied by them advises not to use a sat nav when approacng the site and offers alternative instructions. Follow them. The roads your sat nav will take you are not suitable for a caravan or motorhome and it will not take you to the main entrance.

To be honest ! It is a very pretty well maintained site, but there are a few points that need to be mentioned.
There are a lot of 'seasonal' tourers that are placed around the site which are on fully serviced pitches and some on Standard EHU pitches.
Some of these people thought they owned the land they were sited on and were very 'Clicky' and as we were pitched in front of them they seemed to think we were sort of not worthy.
There are ample notices everywhere ( even in the brochure) stating all dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times when on site, but yet I had 2 German Shepherd's (In my awning at 1 point) roaming free belonging to the seasonal tourer behind me, when I asked the owner of the dogs why the dogs were not tethered I was was looked at like I had 3 heads and told they don't like to be tied up and that the dogs were on there pitch.
I mentioned this to the owners but nothing seemed to get done about it.
I was then told by the dogs owners not to walk behind my own caravan as I was walking on her pitch ? I chose to ignore her but it made it uncomfortable for the rest of our 10 day stay.
The sites Toilet / Shower facilities are very clean, but the pressure to some of the showers is terrible (little more than a trickle) also there are only 4 unisex, plus 2 female & 2 male + 1 Disabled facility to the whole site of more than a 100 pitches so don't be surprised if you have to wait in the morning just to use the loo's because this is where some of the showers are too.
The site is not at all disabled friendly with it being hilly when walking up to reception, not many water points to be found and if you are tenting the pitches are very pretty and secluded but you do face an uphill walk of around 350 meters everytime you want to wash up or go to the loo.
In all, it is a very pretty site, but until the owners with dogs roaming free and the we are here all season attitude is sorted then I for one will not return. Just in case anyone is wondering ?
I love dogs of all sizes & breeds Just a shame I can't say that about some dog owners.
This is an absolute gem of a site. Everything has been set out thoughtfully and it is beautifully maintained. Pitches are large, many screened with tall hedges, and all are arranged so that no-one is looking through somebody else's front window.
We had a fully serviced pitch which even had a drainpipe running from a point adjacent to the caravan's drainage outlet, easy just to tuck a short hose into.
The toilet and shower facilities are very clean, with modern unisex shower/toilet/washbasin rooms and ladies and gents showers and toilets.
And it is so QUIET! A truly tranquil park.
We didn't try the Buzzards restaurant, but the menu looked comprehensive and reasonably priced.
This has gone to top of our list of favourite sites and we will certainly be visiting again.
I recently stayed here for 6 nights with my wife and friends were staying in the tent camping, we were all very pleased with the beautifully kept site.
The facilities were well set out and kept in scrupulous order the dog walking areas more than sufficient.
We all enjoyed the choices and quality of the food in the Buzzards restaurant.
Most of all the staff cannot do enough to make sure you have an enjoyable stay, .
There was an unfortunate incident with a fellow camper which could have spoilt our stay completely but due to the strong fair way the staff dealt with it, our party carried on and had a wonderful holiday at Bingham.
I and the rest of our party cannot praise the staff at Bingham Grange enough. Top marks!
We have visited this site three times now and intend making this one of our annual trips.
Bingham Grange is probably one of the most 'dog friendly' Tranquil, Adult Only sites we have visited yet. On arrival you are given a substantial supply of 'poo bags' to last the duration of your stay. Poo bins are dotted around the site and at various points on the beautiful dog walk.
The dog walk can be accessed at four or five points around the site but we usually start at the grassy area dappled in shade by various trees. We then take the woodland walk down to the stream, which is always a god send on a hot day. From there your can follow the river Brit along to the nearest town of Bridport or through the fields to many dog friendly pubs.
The added benefit of this site is the Buzzards Restaurant (not to be confused with a clubhouse) which offers a good variety of meals on its menu, all of which can either be plated or boxed up to be taken back to your pitch. We have had various meals over our visits and I must say the portions are very generous and good value for money. It's a bonus on 'put-up' day as it's always nice to have a good meal at the end of the day rather than dashing off to do the weekly shop.
There are five unisex bathrooms to the front of the main building, two new bathrooms to the back and the usual male and female toilet/shower blocks. These are all very clean and immaculate and even when the site is almost full to capacity, we have never had to queue for a shower yet.
With regards to previous negative comments about the cutting of the grass or hedges. Everybody wants to have a nice clean and well kept site to visit and unless these jobs and general repairs were maintained, then the site would not live up to the reputation is deserves. You cannot leave the site unkept from March to October when it is open and other tranquil sites we have visited all have to cut the grass on a regular basis.
The staff and owners of the site were friendly and always at hand should you need them in anyway.
Therefore, I would recommend this site to anybody who visits Dorset.
We had Easter weekend here with friends and can only say that from the welcome, the pitches, the whole site, the toilets, the restaurant, the bar, the dog walk.
There are not words to explain howmuch effort must have gone into this sites offer
We were very impressed, as we are b&b. Owners we know how hard it is to supply such quality clean facilities and service on a site like this
This is truly one of the best we have stayed at
Many thanks to all the staff here
Colin and Sarah
