Just got back from a lovely weekend at this adult-only site. The site is gorgeous with lovely views and spacious, well organised pitches. The shower rooms are superb and everything was very clean. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful, from jogging down to show the way to the pitch to waving us off this morning. We had dinner in the Buzzard restaurant and both the food and service were excellent, even though we turned up just as they were closing. We did hear some dog barking in the early morning - this is not from a kennels but from a hunt pack away in the valley which can occasionally be heard when the wind is in that direction. You can occasionally hear a horse neigh or a cock crow, too - that's the pleasure of being in the countryside. You can only hear them because the site is so amazingly tranquil, with no traffic noise at all and everyone very quiet and friendly. We did feel a little deprived since most people had a dog with them - one lady had even brought her rabbit, put out in a run to graze - but we went for a walk anyway and the dog walk is just lovely, through woodland down to a stream. I will definitely be going back and would recommend this site to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet and great service in beautiful surroundings.
The site has very good and clean facilities. We received a friendly greeting on arrival and were even shown to our pitch. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. We were however very shocked at the noise level. Many campers were using tv's and radios much louder than the expected level. To make matters worse there was a carnival nearby on the evening that we stayed and the music did not end until after 2 in the morning. It was a great shame as this did put us off ever going there again.
This is our second visit here the last was Sept 2010 There have been so many improvements. Lots and lots of tree planting. We love this site it is doggie heaven so many lovely walks.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the toilets and showers are spotless
Two small gripes.
One of the wardens decided to clean and hoover his car late into the eve(still hoovering after we had gone to bed as it was still light )
Annoying campers playing Adele's latest album over and over
Would recommend this site and hope to visit again soon
Fantastic Adults only site, beautifully kept to a very high standard
Exceptionally dog friendly but unfortunately some dog owners are reluctant to clear up after their pet
Sunsets on the tent side of the site are awesome
All facilities are pristine! the staff are friendly, courteous and very helpful even siting our unit for us
The on site restaurant is upstairs and, as we are both disabled to varying degrees, it was a bit of a struggle to access but the meals were excellent, and really good value for money!
Only really One disappointment and unfortunately, one that is found on most sites. In the Disabled Shower it was exceptionally hard to control the temperature, minuscule adjustments required to prevent either scalding or freezing oneself and this is difficult for able bodied never mind disabled users.
The only seat is inside the shower area therefore you have to sit with a dripping shower head on you or use the wobbly toilet seat to dry off and put your clothes on. That's probably why it's wobbly because disabled folks use it as a seat!
Never the less a brilliant, brilliant site. We will be back
We've just got back from a week at Bingham Grange. It was our first visit and without doubt not our last, a week just wasn't long enough. The site is the best we've ever stayed at.
Facilities are excellent and immaculate, we loved the self contained toilet/shower rooms and didn't have to queue once. The washing up/food preparation areas were absolutely spotless at whatever time we used them. The staff were always helpful and incredibly friendly.
Pitches are flat and very large, I believe most have electric hook ups, our 6 birth tent plus extension and windbreak fitted with no problems. The site as a whole is extremely well looked after, we enjoyed a lovely walk in the woods. We paid £10 for a weeks' Wifi connection, it was brilliant, as fast as our internet at home and iPlayer was no problem for it.
The bar/restaurant staff had a friendly atmosphere and the food was delicious. The menu is very varied with sandwiches, bar food and a fab restaurant menu choice. The desserts looked amazing but after eating the beef and mushroom pie I couldn't manage pudding. We loved the Grange Cider!
I was a little nervous about booking because I read the comments about the kennels nearby but thank goodness I rang Bingham and asked about the dogs because we would have missed out on a great week. We did hear them twice, very faintly in the distance and only for short periods. I think if I hadn't read the reviews on here I wouldn't have even noticed it. Please don't be put off.
We visited Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury Swans, Weymouth, Lulworth Cove, Monkey World and Chesil Beach. Every day out was fun and interesting. The coast road from Bridport to Weymouth is breathtaking, my only advice would be to get your partner to drive so that you can enjoy the views and maybe swap on the way back.
I would recommend the site unreservedly to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, relaxing, trouble free camping holiday. 10 out of 10 Bingham, the 5 hour drive was worth it, we'll definitely be back.
Set in 15 acres of breathtaking countryside, right next door to the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, this site offers stunning views of the Chesil Bank, Fleet Lagoon, and Lyme Bay. Welcoming tents, motorhomes and caravans, this family friendly site offers spacious grass pitches with or without electric. For kids there's an outdoor heated swimming pool, 3 acre playing area including slides, swings and more.
Facilities include toilets, showers, washing up, launderette, and WifI. There is an onsite shop and off-licence. The Bar in the Barn at the site serves a delicious food and offers a variety of entertainment, including live music. As well as the attractions of Weymouth's beach and harbour, this is a great base to explore family attractions throughout South and West Dorset. Find out more here
Visited over spring bank holiday when the weather could have been better but still enjoyed our stay in this quiet adults only site. Thought the rate was on the high side for a tent, we've never paid so much to camp.
It was quite windy at times and the site is a bit exposed but lots of tree planting has been done which should help to protect from the weather.
Good sized pitches, everything spotlessly clean and friendly staff. All facilities are at the top of the site so it is a bit of an uphill walk if you're at the bottom, but it's worth it for the private shower rooms. Nice restaurant & bar up there too.
Lovely woodland walk down to the river and only a short drive to Bridport and the beautiful coastline.
This was our first trip out with our caravan since purchasing it & we were not disappointed with this fantastic site. We chose it because we love the area, wanted to be away from children, & most of all where our dog would be welcome.
We found it all here, great spacious fully serviced pitch, immaculate showers/toilets, the dog walks are superb. All the staff were so friendly & helpful& shop prices were very reasonable.
Although we did not use the on site restaurant the food smelt divine
We would rate this site a big 10 out of 10, we are returning in Oct. Before they close for the winter.
This has to be one of the best site that we have visited, only been back to camping the last two years the site has the feel of a big welcome as soon as you enter,
All the staff were very helpful. The facilities were just like at home washing machine.
Indoor/outside washing up fridge/freezer for ice packes the shower rooms were A1. Spotless all over the site.
Loads of room on the pitch we had with a hedge to mark the pitch and loads of room for the car as well.
The food was very nice also there is a small bar, we stayed for sunday lunch which I must say was better than most restaurants that we have been to and the cost was good value.
The only small down point was that if you were to be down the bottom of the site there was no toilet and it would be a bit of a walk to the top.
We've just returned from Binghams. We used this site a lot a few years ago and decided to go back.
The change is unbelievable. They have completely changed the landscape making more pitches most if not all with EHU. They've done a great job.
The showers and toilets are still brilliant, probably the best on any campsite we've stayed on and although it was busy we didn't have to queue.
We visited West Bay, Bridport and Lyme Regis all quite a short drive away.
They've a well stocked little shop in reception and a restaurant, bar on site though I can't comment on this as I didn't use it. You can get Wi Fi at an incredible £5 per day.
The only down side for us and it was a big one but out of the campsites control is. Since we last visited a dog kennels has opened in the locality.
The dogs could be heard from around 7.30 in the morning and for periods throughout the day. I'm sure caravanners probably wouldn't be woken up by this but we in a tent were.
The site is very dog friendly with great walks for them.
Because of this we won't return which is a great shame as the site itself is one of the better ones we've been to.
We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Bingham Grange. The site is in a lovely setting with some nice woodland/riverside wlks very close by. It is a 2 and a bit walk into Bridport through some nice countryside.
The facilities are spotless and there is plenty of, very, hot water!
It is an adults only site but that was not the reason we chose to stay here. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and helpful throughout. (The only thing to be aware of is that this is one of those sites that charges for awnings!)
I would have no hesitation of going back to this site and I would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing weekend in Dorset.

We were more than happy with the site when we last visited in 2009 but we were amazed at the improvements that have been made since. Showers and toilets facilities were immaculate and the site is very well managed. The restaurant and bar on site looked very nice although perhaps a little expensive. Easy access to a fantastic dog walk on site including a stream and a large field at the bottom of the site. Only two negatives - they do seem to have crammed a large number of vans onto the site, and even as a dog lover, I found the 7.30 barking and howling every morning from nearby kennels a bit overpowering.
Being an adults only site it is quiet and relaxing. As we were there over the August Bank Holiday it was busy and our pitch was in Valley View along with some tents. However, the pitches are a very good size and it didn't feel cramped. The pitch was on a slight slope. The grass was kept in immaculate condition and was mowed daily. Very impressive. I generally prefer hardstandings but these grass pitches were excellent and I would have no concerns about being put there again.
All the facilities are in one building and unusually there is a restaurant and bar. We ate there once and it was excellent quality but a little pricey for daily use for us. The showers were good quality. I have seen some reviews say that they could do with more but I never had to queue!
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall I would say this site is excellent. Adults only and dog friendly it will become one of our favourites I am certain. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely peaceful site, very clean & well maintained.
The bar/restaurant is great for an evening meal, however I was disappointed when my wife & I went there for a meal on our anniversary, we sat on a table for 4 as there was plenty of spare tables and wanted a bit of space only to be asked to move to a table for 2 'in case' anyone came in wanting a table for 4 (which nobody did!) I mentioned this to the barman who just shrugged his shoulders, just seemed a bit graspy to me.
We visited this adults only site as it was the school holidays and we don't have young children. We found it easily and stayed on the grass terrace which was very open and bordered the woodland dog walk. This was incredibly well kept with a small stream and access to a very large field and local walks. If you try the circular walk take a ball of string because some signs are missing and it also includes a walk back along a very busy, pathless road which we felt was too dangerous to even consider. However, we did find the pub eventually and the dog was shattered and slept soundly all evening! There is a popular restaurant on site that we didn't try and the shower rooms were very attractive, practical and clean. For the last half of the week we did hear the boarding kennels nearby and this was the only downside, although outside the owners control anyway. There are pebble beaches nearby and supermarkets close to the site. This was a friendly and well kept site that we probably would return to.
Just back from 12 night stay, we found the staff at the site very friendly and helpful, we were on pitch 36 which was ok but the high hedges around the pitch did make us feel a bit closed in and we lost the sun quite early in the evening. The caravan part of the site was slightly sloping but nothing major. The facilities were really good with showers and toilets on both sides of the building. The camping field was on quite a slope but the tents were generally put on the level areas. We ate at the buzzards bar three times and found the food to be really good, well presented and the atmosphere was very pleasant, the prices were probably cheaper than at the local pubs.
The area is very hilly and most of the beaches are shingle, all in all we had a really enjoyable and relaxing time at Bingham Grange.
