We only stayed one night here on this occasion but will come back.
Overall the site was good. Good entertainment and facilities. Not many showers, although, I timed it well in the morning and got in just after the cleaners. Toilets quite dirty at night - mainly due to unaccompanied children running riot.
We were located near to the reception and shower blocks but right next to the chemical waste disposal (urghhhh) the ground was quite bumpy but our tent isnt huge so not a big problem.
Clubhouse was nice and bar reasonable. Shop well stocked, didn't eat in the cafe so cannot comment on the food.
Children well catered for - kids club looked fun and playground was wel equipped and clean, and just outside the clubhouse so parents can keep an eye on the kids whilst relaxing in the bar - Happy days!

We live 7 mins away from this campsite and use it regularly as it is perfectly sited for the beach and the children love to swim in the indoor pool.
At just £10 per pitch per night (excl school holidays) this works out cheaper for 6 of us to stay overnight and for the kids to swim and watch the evening and daytime entertainment than taking them to the local swimming pool
The shop is basic but we tend to take everything with us that we need. It's a very remote area so unless you like walks, stony beaches then there's not much else to do, but 2 nights is great if the weather's good
Swimming is restricted at busy times and you have to book a time slot
There is an on site cafe and a bar with evening entertainment. There are also a couple of things going on during the day for the children. For example - magic tuition
The park is very small and basic unfortunately but keeps the children occupied for a while

Nice site. Nice staff. Very good pitches. Located next to a beach with good waterside walks, I would recommend this site to people who want a nice quiet break. More than 3 days stay may prove to be too long because the pool is small and timed in busy periods and the children's play area is functional but inadequate for size of site. Bars is expensive and entertainment is good for families but teeth pulling for adults. We have personally exhausted this site due to the points raised. Its fairly isolated from other places to visit and with this in mind when you visit take some shopping with you. The on site shop and cafe is Ok but your own food supplies will be needed for a three day break.

Stayed here for 2 nights fri 18th sat 19th June, set in the countryside on the edge of the river Blackwater. Our initial impressions were good, all the facilities are situated at the reception. This included a bar/club house although it is small and at the time world cup football was on big screens so no evening entertainment. Small arcade room with only a few machines suitable for children over 6 I would say. A nice pool table in the bar. Nice play area next to the bar with wood chips and all the normal play equipment, all clean, fenced in and safe. Next to that was the cafe/takeaway/shop,. Didn't eat here so cant comment though small. The shop had all the basics you would need.
The staff here were lovely and friendly. The pitches were only a handful of tents mixed in with caravans and motorhomes, good size pitch but very lumpy, hard ground. Was right next to the one way road so had no area to play ball games. Space for car next to tent. Night time noisy, woke up in the morning to find smashed glass outside our tent. Went over to the toilets which were shut had to use the portacabins which were cleaner anyway. Plenty of toilets and shower facilities but cold water.
Used the pool and although very small was warm and the kids enjoyed the slide you do have to book sessions though in 1 hour slots so could have quite a wait. Changing rooms weren't the best, no lockers and no family changing.
Had a nice walk along the coast and did some crabbing in the lake which the kids loved. Out and about not much to do just walks and views. Nearest town is Maldon. Not the best campsite but unfortunately the people that were there that weekend spoilt it for us.

This site is mainly geared towards static caravans (some privately owned). There are some camping pitches available. We were allocated pitches a long way from facilities (including toilets)- meaning just under half mile round trip for the loo! We found this excessive, and completely unnecessary as the portable cabin toilets had been situated right next to the main toilet block. Also - no washing up facilities. The pitches were large and surrounded by trees, however one was very pitted with large holes, and some dog poo. Overall the site was clean and tidy at the front end where the newer static vans were, but nearer the back (where we were) was quite scruffy and unkempt.
Good shop available
Very small pool was lovely - but needed to be booked (see previous reviews)
Club house entertainment was fairly good
Park area for kids very good and clean
Surrounding area: a few things to do but 15 mins drive away, immediate surroundings were very dull, and disappointing, desptite being next to the 'sea' it was just very muddy and smelly.
Security on site was very good - but rather frustratingly we had to hang around and get a member of staff to operate the barrier to come in or out of the site - found out later than a pass key is available but we were never offered one.

Me and my 3 children spent 1 night at waterside. I really liked the feel of the camp as tents were put with caravans etc so weren't stuck in the back of a field, like another park resorts site! The pool was really small and the other reviews weren't exaggerating on the size! There was building work going on right next to the site so that wasn't good but for one night we had a good time. My sons an expert on park resorts and thought the size of the stage and the three spot lights was hilarious!I think if you forget its park resorts and think of it as just a campsite anything extras a bonus.

We have used Park Resorts many times and generally find them ok, and this site, although small, had 2 of the best evening entertainers we have seen all season, however, the touring pitch has to be the bumpiest I have ever seen anywhere, and it was almost impossible to find a flat area for our Awning.
The toilet block had one out of order all the time we were there & it has to say the toilets were pretty disgusting, not because they were not cleaned but because parents let their kids in unaccompanied. It would be better if like other Park Resorts, you pay a deposit for a toilet / shower key & this might encourage parents to control their off spring. I had 3 Grandchildren with us so I am not in way anti kids, just like them to be controlled.
Staying the sunday night, I was disappointed that, just as it was at Walton on the Naze a few weeks back, the swimming pool was closed due electrical problems. Amazingly exactly the same fault as we were given at Walton, so either they have a design error that needs to be resolved, or they just make an excuse not to open the pool on the Monday. Go crabbing instead said the girl in reception when I asked when the pool would be open.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were shown to our pitch and as first timers were informed helpfully on pitching, the amenities and entertainment for our stay.
We happened to be very close to the water tap and also the showers and toilet facilities both of which were kept clean and tidy.
The pool and the play area are both small but adequate. The pool had to be booked, but for us this was not a problem as we got to swim in the next hour every time, and the pool itself was never too busy.
We used both the cafe and the bar and were made very welcome at both.
The shop was small but it sold all the basics we needed.
We went into Maldon town and to The Promenade for the day.
The Site is set in a beautiful area with sea views , and the upkeep of the park overall is very good.
We were lucky to have fantastic weather, maybe I'd not be so happy if it had poured down.
If I could guarantee the sunshine I'd definitely come back.

This was our second visit to this site this year.
It was quite busy but not so much that you couldn't get to the bar or had to queue for the toilets or shower.
We have a 5 & 6 year old and they loved the evening entertainment. I think the adult cabaret were quite good, but did vary in standard from night to night.
We tried the food last time and I have to say I was very impressed despite the look of the cafe.
The pool is a large bath but again my kids loved it and there was a small separate pool with a bit of a shallow slide (it was also warmer than the main pool!)
You have to book the pool in peak periods though as it really cant take more than about 14 people
The main bit to this park is the fantastic location to the River Blackwater. We did a bit of crabbing and managed to see others catching crabs and fish from the lake (we didn't catch any as didn't have the right equipment but it didn't stop us trying). There are also walks along the river.
I believe there is also an access point on site for those with jet bikes etc
There are better sites out there (also more expensive) and perhaps it needs a bit of tarting up here and there. But it does have a good atmosphere and at £24 a night it was good value. And yes we will be going again in September (if only for the chocolatte song - if you've been you will know - it certainly is better than The Ketchup song

We visited over Easter bank holiday and few days after and found the playground closed, swimming pool (this was very small) closed and the kids club was not what we expected either (cutting and sticking or colouring in was on offer). Facilities were not pointed out to us but you are given a map of the site.
On the plus side the young man in reception was polite and we was shown to our pitch when we arrived. The toilets and shower facilities were portacabins but they were very clean and lovely hot showers. There is a small lake there which is only good for crabbing and we didn't find a way of getting down to the sea through the mud.
There was a grass area where you could play ball etc.
