Facilities for this site are rather lacking - 2 showers for the girls, 2 for the men and 1 disabled - none of these were particularly clean, would recommend decent flip flops to wear in the shower! They are however building a new shower block which should be open next season. There was ample hot water, the site was quiet (apart from the road noise but we're used to that!) with a relaxed atmosphere, and there were no specific tent pitches so you could pitch where ever you wished. Electric hookups were available but only a few on the field. Great for an overnight stay or a weekend but to be honest I would struggle for any longer.

Recently visited this site as our first weekend camp since our children came along (now 2 & 4). Two reasonable sized fields for touring tents and caravans but not that many flat pitches, most seemed to be sloping to some degree. The new toilet block (mentioned on their website) has not yet been completed – it is still just a shell – but the site really needs to improve in this area. One toilet / shower block near the entrance which was sort of OK. The far camping field has a portakabin toilet block which was not particularly nice (no showers). Not very clean, not a hook in sight to hang up your towel, leaking urinal – get the drift? Some road noise from the A21 but it didn't bother us. No real facilities on site other than a very limited shop. Lots of things to do in the area though. Wouldn't have wanted to stay more than a weekend because of the poor facilities.

Hi just been to this campsite and agree with all the comments- the facilities are awful and have only 2 showers for ladies and takes 20p for about 3 minutes- saying that I think for 2007 they are updating the facilities. Also not many power points were available in the 2 upper fields so we had 4 tent's very close together. Apart from this I did enjoy the time I spent their but I felt that £16.00 per night for a 1 person tent with electricity was a bit much.

Having read previous bad reviews on this site, we honestly did go to this site with an open mind. Initial thoughts were very good, large tent field was a slight slope but no huge problem. As a group, we were able to pitch tents together which is always a bonus, as as the other reviews say, there is a little shop to get the essentials. However, to be honest, there is no excuse for how dirty the showers and toilets were. Firstly when we booked in, we were not told that the showers were 20p to use (as all other sites that charge usually tell you and offer 20p coins in their change), so I got down to the showers, changed and was all ready and wondered why the shower wasn't working. Had to get changed, walk back to tent and go back down again! The backs of the shower doors where you have to hang your clothes were covered in mildew and would have only taken about 2 mins to wash clean. The pipes around the showers were also covered in mildew and mould as were the shower curtains which just needed a good wash in a machine. There were also port-a-kabin toilets in the top tent field and these were not much better. The plastic covers that house the strip lighting were full of dead moths and flys and obviously hadn't been cleaned for years. It's a shame because the site was in a great location convenient for the beach and historic towns such as Battle, but the cleanliness really lets it down. The owners seem to spend a lot of their time, preening over their Rolls Royce's or Merc's, but would be better spent on a bit of TLC in their toilet & shower areas, say once a week. So in conclusion, nice location, but owners, please spend a bit of time on the cleanliness and I'm sure you'll get more campers coming back.

What a lovely little site. It was April bank holiday but they fitted us in. 2 large tents and 3 kids and they had a great time playing in the very muddy woods (English weather for you) Nice clean toilets and showers with a small shop on site for papers, milk, cold drink etc. Mostly static vans with a separate field for tents. Small block of toilets on the tent field and only a short walk to the main block where the toilets are showers are 20p. The owner and the wardens couldn't be nicer and only about 10 min to Hastings beach and shops. Will be visiting again.

Broadhembury Holiday Park - Ashford
Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. A range of grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced or non electric, catering for all sized of tents and caravans.
On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. The park has CCTV and WiFi is available for a small fee. A dog walking area is provided on site. Find out more here

May 2005 The camp consists of 3 separate areas - the bottom field was for static caravans the next field was for touring caravans and the top field was for tents. My husband and myself were in the top field, crammed in with about 50 to 60 other tents. There was hardly any room to move. In the corner of the field was a portacabin toilet which was really dirty. There were no washing facilities and no hot water whatsoever. We were all washing up in freezing cold water. There were no toilets or showers in the 2nd field so the only shower block was at the bottom which consisted of 2 showers in the ladies 2 in the mens and that was it for the whole camp!

June 2004 We took our young family to Crazy Lane in June 04, a very nice family / older persons site. The facilities are basic but OK, I would say that the site draws most of its income from permanent caravan pitches. For tenters there are two large meadows, both slightly sloping but ok. The A21 is constant noise but its OK, ideal for an overnighter who needs to be close to the coast, but if you are staying longer you need to bring your full equipment!

July 2003 Campsite was split into two areas, one for caravans and one for tents. A portacabin in the tent field provided toilet facilities, however they were not very clean and did not have hot running water. A shower block was located in the caravan area, but again not very clean and did not seem to get cleaned in our 2 day stay. Additionally a shower was charged at 20 pence for 5 minutes in addition to the overnight charge of £11.50 per night for a tent.
Owners were very friendly and helpful though.
One final point was that of traffic noise. This site is just off the A21 and suffers from constant road noise. Also tent field was not very busy.

June 2003 This was a really nice campsite, lovely pitch and not at all crowded. It was convieniently located for Hastings/Battle etc, the managers were very friendly and helpful. The toilets in the camping field were very basic but adequate, the showers were small but very clean.
The only complaint I had was the constant road noise - the site was not as rural as I had expected.
