We went to view this site as is local to us. Site is couple of 100ft down in a valley, car being at the top, hence carrying everything down, then back up. Toilets/water/showers back up to the top again. The approaching lane is 1 car wide and it is an unlit road. This aside, it was set in nice scenery. A site purely for hikers. No shops for a couple of miles - yes back up the hill, same for the pub. I will leave it up to you to decide? There were 2 small hiking tents on site, so certainly not overcrowded.

Parking: Away from pitch area. Secure locked gate 9pm onwards (key available) Shower: One. Room to dry/dress without getting feet dirty (one of my pet hates). Non coin op Toilet: Basic. Could do with a spruce up. Toilet paper supplied. Play area: Two swings and a chain bridge. Both via stepping stones over stream. Pitch area: Two cold water taps available in pitch area along with three dustbins. No washing up area other than concrete floor below cold taps. The stream can be heard at night. The site suffers from a plague of midges. Please take midge repellent. Without it, your stay between the hours of 18:00 and 21:00 will be fairly miserable. Environment: Pitch field, clean stream, woodland walks, kids play area
Likes: Quiet. Private Dislikes: Midges, setup time as car is a fair distance away What you would do differently on a repeat visit: Take midge repellent and plenty of towels to dry the kids off after they have finished playing in the excellent shallow stream!
