Beautiful location and plenty of space to pitch, camp and enjoy. Walks can be made in many directions to visit Hartfield or just meander through fields, hills and forest.
The site is dog friendly with good amenities, wood can be purchased to build a fire.
The lake is good to fish on and my 8 year old and I caught a 10lb Mirror carp which was great fun and exciting for us both.
The site was busy but still provided large space between pitches and all were friendly.
Thank you

Fantastic beautiful campsite, we have been coming to this site for years.
It's friendly and laid back,
Lots of walks from the site and pubs nearby.
There are no ridiculous rules, camp fires are allowed and groups allowed, just enjoy the freedom to relax and exprience what camping is about.

Lovely views from the site and a choice of open field or under trees for camping.
Portacabin with two toilets and one shower each, plus washing up sinks outside next to it - seemed adequate, surprisingly! Didn't meet the owner as I was out all day.
Mostly quiet but there were some quite noisy guys the first night talking till past 1am.
Second night was wonderfully peaceful even though there were more people.
I'd definitely come again.

Beautiful site, lovely lakes with ducks, mature trees, lots of squirrels and open views of the countryside. It is as isolated and peaceful as it is possible to be in southern England (There is distant traffic noise, and it is on the Gatwick flight path).
Mostly what you hear is the ducks, wood pigeons, geese flying over and owls in the evening. It wasn't very busy when we went, and most other visitors were friendly and considerate. (A rowdy group was reprimanded I believe. )
The camp fires all around the field were lovely, and we cooked on ours with great success. Wood is sold by the owners who come round at about 6pm, £6 a box which last about two nights.
There is no reception, when you arrive you just pitch up wherever you like. They come around twice a day and collect payment if owed, very friendly guys.
On a practical level the facilities are limited, there is a small block near the entrance with two flush toilets and one shower per gender, plus outside washing-up sinks, plenty of hot water and no charges.
There are also several portaloos dotted around the fields so never too far away, they were generally kept clean and emptied regularly. It was all perfectly adequate when we were there, but perhaps not in busier times.
Do note that the lakes are not fenced, and neither is the main camping field, in addition to open fires on the ground, so you would have to take great of care young, adventurous children.

Great campsite. A bit bumpy and uneven ground though in some places. Very relaxed environment, campfire friendly. Very laid back and doesn't stress with rules or restrictions. Washing facilities available.
Many camp fire spots throughout the site, and the site owner offered fire wood too. We're not much of a campfire family though. Just be aware of the spots and your wandwring kids.
Be aware there is no reception, just pop in, set up, and of of the site managers will see you during the day. I was personally a little confused on what the situation was with arriving, paying, and booking in as I wasn't made aware.
One of the campsite owners came around in the second afternoon, as we arrived very late evening. He didn't rush to settle payment and was very friendly.
The campsite is right in the middle of several Geocache trials, so I will be returning.
Thank You :)

Great site. Quite basic but that's its charm. Beautiful setting. Very quiet. Host David genial, charming and attentive.
Great place to unwind. Surrounded by nature. No annoying bar or entertainment. Wonderful site.
Will be coming back again. Loved it.

Friendly and welcoming host.
Campsite in a quiet, secluded location with lovely countryside. Only let down is that you have to drive for 15-20min for nearest shop, although this wasn't too much of a problem.
No other amenities nearby, but the secluded location makes up for it. Lovely 3mile(ish) walk to Forest Row.
Facilities were basic, but sufficient for a one night stay (e. G. No showers).
Good value for money.
Great overall rating - would definitely come again.

I love this campsite and visit several times a year! Wild camping with toilets and showers.
The most beautiful location, log fires, no square pitches and a the most charming, accommodating and helpful proprietor.
Wonderful walks all around and fishing on the little lakes.
Don't expect modern facilities, it wouldn't be the same if it had them.

Lovely site, relaxed atmosphere and great location with good fishing lake.
The facilities do let it down, it needs a good shower block.
Owner very helpful and friendly, if a little difficult to get hold of before the stay.

Beautiful location however facilities are in dire need of upgrading.
Inadequate number of showers and toilets that were not fully cleaned during our stay.
Quiet expensive considering no EHU and poor facilities.
Will not be going back.

Wonderful serene camping with old time simple facilities.
Fishing lakes, campfires, rolling hills, walks, nature.
Take outdoor games, leave technology behind. Breath, potter about.
Owner Mr Chapman, friendly and helpful.
