We've just returned from a great week at Blackberries. What a lovely site! So picturesque and beautifully laid out. Peaceful and a haven for wildlife - including the chickens and goats!
The facilities are spotless, with plenty of hot water, although only a couple of toilets and showers at the moment, there wasn't a problem with queuing. More toilets and showers are being built. Lots of interesting walks from the site and a great pub, the Muddy Duck at Monkton Farleigh, 15 mins walk away.
Beryl and Adrian are very helpful and so friendly - we wish them lots of luck with their venture and hope to visit again one day.

Great little camp site, small, intimate and very relaxed.
Modern, simple facilities, secluded and you can be at one with nature.
There are moo cows and chickens you can look at and owner even let us look at his baby goats too, my two year old absolutely loved it.
Reasonable price and great local knowledge from owner, good location too with easy access to Bath and Bristol as long as you drive.
Quite at night, everyone in bed by 10!

Wow! What we call a proper campsite - less is more. Fantastic owners very friendly but appreciate your privacy enjoyment. Loved fire pits and no light pollution made for just the best evenings. Beautiful setting, and ideal for touring about Bradford on Avon which very nice with canal walks and great value food at the Lock restaurant, park excellent, and swimming pool there to, fish and chips good, actually did love it Bradford on Avon. Bath easy reach and lovely to visit. We used public transport, bus and train just to add to our adventure for our son. Lady bus driver who covers the service was just the best. Facilities lovely and yeah maybe limited numbers but hey this is when you get to chat with your fellow campers. Nearby park ok, pub ok, nice walks and beautiful countryside and views etc. Would certainly visit again if in the area. Wishing the owners all the best for a wonderful future at Blackberries.

We spent two nights here catching up with friends, another couple bought their tent and the others hired a pod. The site is beautifully laid out so you are not in regimented rows and there are areas of wildlife habitats to enhance the views. We loved the fact that there are lots of logs available to use on the fire pit (which was included with the hire of the pod) but can be rented on the other pitches if required.
Yes there is only 1 loo and 1 shower for each sex, but we understand they are building another toilet block at the other end of the site. The shower was lovely and warm and the washing facilities were more than adequate for our requirements. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. Take a walk around Bradford on Avon as well - you won't be disappointed - a beautiful place with an easy walk along the canal and river.

This was a bit of a let down - having seen the website and booked on the strength of the reviews I was expecting better than this. The whole site and in particular the caravan pitches could do with a visit from a strimmer or a mower.
The toilet facilities - one gents and one ladies - were inadequate for a site of this size. The showers were too cold to use in the morning - but red hot at night.
The option of having a fire pit was a nice touch and one of the most enjoyable aspects of our stay.
This is a relaxed site with few rules - however it really could be so much better if the attention to detail wasn't also so relaxed.
The advice to beware of your SAT Nav is crucial as the one hill is 1:4 and more or less impossible to take a caravan up and has no passing places.
For caravans - this site is over priced, given the facilities and the presentation.
Overall a disappointing stay in a great location - I do hope they manage to improve things.

Cheddar Mendip Heights Club Site
Set in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Mendip Hills. There are 90 grass and hardstanding pitches some with hookup, for tents, caravans and motorhomes. The well laid out site has excellent shower and toilet facilities, including a family room, plus a laundry room and a well-stocked licensed shop selling local produce. Non members are welcome to book!
You can walk to the village of Priddy where you`ll find a popular pub serving food and the Priddy Good Farm Shop, selling a range of locally produced food. There are many attractions in this area of Somerset and the south west including Bath and Weston-super-Mare, and the site is ideally located, midway between Cheddar Gorge and Wells. Had a brilliant few days at The Blackberries, helped by the great weather! It was a lovely campsite, the pitches were good and facilities were basic but clean. The owners were friendly and gave some lovely recommendations for local walks and of course local pubs! (The food at The Crown was very good and very reasonably priced!)Would thoroughly recommend this campsite and would go back. Please take note from the website and that if you follow Sat Nav it does take you up one of the steepest hill I have ever driven up! All in all a great break thank you.

I’ve never left a review for a site before, but my wonderful experience at the Blackberries needs to be shared.
From my first enquiry, Beryl was so helpful with everything and I couldn’t wait to see the site! It didn’t disappoint- it’s a real rural hideaway with such a relaxed, peaceful feeling. Beryl and Adrian are fantastic and friendly hosts, making you feel welcome and looked after.
The facilities were top notch- very clean, and I never had to wait to use them. We loved the firepit and used it to BBQ both nights of our stay.
We spent one day in Bathford (would highly recommend a visit) and one in Bath, the site is well placed for both. We didn’t get the chance to visit the local pub, but it wasn’t far away which is a bonus.
Would like to thank them both for such a lovely stay, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Pros: Close to Bradford on Avon and Bath; small quiet and secluded; friendly owner.
Cons: Single toilet and shower per gender.
This is a really delightful site which is perfect for exploring Bath, Bradford on Avon and the surrounding countryside. The owner is helpful and friendly, and very much in evidence day to day.
We had an excellent pitch but there were certainly at least a couple that we would not have wanted to be on. The site has very strict ideas on 'neighbourliness' and noise which did make it rather a pity that the owners' family party on site went on until well after 11pm.
That said, we would certainly consider staying at Blackberries again and we would thoroughly recommend it for campers of all ages.

Really lovely campsite in rural Wiltshire. Only 40 mins from Bristol, we came here with 5 other families with small children. Some of our 'non-camping' friends took advantage of the pods and we all got to camp together (important if you have small kids who go to bed early). Kids loved it and went on Graffalo hunts in the woods around the site and the adults felt it safe for them to run around.
Lots of cordoned off wildlife sections which added to the beauty of the campsite and also made it quite secluded as you are not on top of other campers.
Fire pits and wood are available for after dark and we had a great big hawthorn tree to shelter us from the rain on one night.
No play area but there was a local one about 5 mins walk away.
Great local pub 15 mins walk away - The Muddy Duck. We had snacks and drinks there in the afternoon but the evening menu looked amazing!
Would definitely come back here again.
Facilities are nice and clean - could possibly do with 1 more loo and shower each.
Owners nice and friendly.

We had such a nice time here that we have already booked up for next year! We spent the weekend here as part of a group of 2 tents and a caravan.
The owners seem lovely - nice welcome and seem very relaxed about campfires and groups enjoying themselves (we weren't packed off to bed at 10. 30pm like you seem to get in campsites these days.
The campsite itself is small but beautifully laid out - mixture of wild flower areas which is lovely for the butterflies and pitches for the campers.
Toilets are clean and the showers are not on that annoying timer thing with lots of lovely hot water. The only thing I would say is perhaps it could do with more toilets (one for female, one for male) - but having said that there was never much of a wait for either.
Lovely relaxed campsite!
